At least the rest of the country agrees that the Doors were one of the best bands ever. Most of the country thinks Creed is just a rip off of Pearl Jam. And the people that DO like Creed...well, they like Brintey Spears for her music.

I like Creed and I hate britney spears. I like the Doors and Pearl Jam too.
my favorite bands though are bands from the 60s: Greatful Dead, Doors, etc etc, or bands that are like them i.e. DMB. I like that accoustic rock no synthesier sound. Honest music.
Raven, big fan of honest music

What are you smoking? There are no stats to back that up. "Most of the country" is not limited to people you find at Arden mall, and I don't think even they would agree with you.

Stats? Dont really need 'em. Called common sense. Sit down and listen to any of Pearl Jam's stuff, specifically the stuff when they were good (early 90s...Jeremy, Yellow Ledbetter, etc.) and then listen to Creed. You cannot sit their and honestly tell me that Creed, specifically Scot Stap, isnt blantantly sounding like Pearl Jam.
Now, try to do this with an objective mind, buts its obvious.
And...BTW...I search the people whose opinions matter. People in the music industry, musicians and teachers of music. Ah, oh yes, and Creed fans too. Most of the Creed fans I know do agree that Creed is just trying to sound like Pearl Jam.
I can go on...but i'll stick to the releent stuff for now ^^

Common sense that people would like one band over another? Common sense is not sticking your hand in boiling water. Music is a matter of opinion, and since your claim was purely statistical if you don't have any numbers to back it up then there's no reason to conclude its true.

Yes, I can say that Creed isn't trying to sound like Pearl Jam. I have listened to PJ, and except for Jeremy I have never liked any of their songs. The only relationship that may exist between the two bands is that Creed took elements of PJ and made it to their own liking.

Oh, so everyone else's opinion does not matter in a purely subjective topic? That's one way to get the stats you want, just dismiss everyone who disagrees with you as irrelevant.
A lot of my friends like Creed, but most would not tell you that they are trying to be like PJ. Some of them don't even like Pearl Jam. Creed has its own merits, and IMO is a very good band.

Heh...you're getting a lil too hyper over this. Makes it more fun that way.
True...I dont have statistical facts to back up my statement...so I will revise my statement.
I believe in my opinion that Creed is a crappy band for the following reasons. Scot Stap sounds like a blatant rip off of Eddie Vetter to me. In my opinion their songs all sound the same...and there is little variation in their style from CD to CD. They have not progressed musically, but have instead leveled out and festered.
Now...when they stop lying to themselves and Scot Stap allows a little more creative insight from the other band members, then maybe they will progress above their current level. When they start operating like a band, and not a couple of guys listening to whatever Stap says then they can progress. But as I hear in their music, there is no progression. And a band that has not progressed in talent or creative ability is not a good band.
Just because people like a band, and they sell out concerts doesnt make them good. And...yes...just because people dont like them doesnt make them a bad band (heh, Jimmy Hendrix was uber unpopular in the US at first).
Anyways....the guitarist is good.
-Talen-Whose Arguments always get fused with fact and opinion.

Hyper? I think you're reading that into it. BTW, props to you for the proper use of the word "too" (it's a pet peeve . . . ICER, are you taking notes? ).

Well, that is your opinion. I don't think musicians have to change their style to be good musicians, or to "progress" musically. And personally I've always thought that Eddie Vetter's vocals were akin to the bellows of a dying cow. Creeds vocals are much more palatable to me.

Why not? The quality of music is, after all, in the eye of the beholder. There is no absolute by which to gauge anything artistic.

Saw the moive on Friday, it was an interesting idea and story I think they could have done more with it...
The CCG Dragons were very nice and looked like they took a lot from all the artwork out there on dragons to make them seem real.
Also the Star Wars Play bit did push the point home of how bad civilization had fallen...oral story telling was the main way to entertain.
I would give it 6 out 10 stars based on the FX stuff alone...but it is more of a mid-afternoon movie.

You know what movie had a REALLy depresing ending?
Ever see pet semetary?
Every major charachter and I mean EVERY one dies in the movie. Heck they even have a charactercome back to finish off the last guy.
And that Zelda chick, you know the one with the screwed up spine thing, she gave me nightmares.
I hate that movie, probally one of the scarriest movies I have ever seen. Seems scarier every time I think about it. But, The one thing everyone forgets about is acctually not every major charachter dies.
No one but me that I have talk to caught on to this. remember the daughter? She went to her grandparents house and she got to live.
Lucky biatch.
Oh well I think I have ranted enough. Oh wait maybe not.
Does anyone out there like Dennis Miller Live? It sucks that there is only 4 shows left though. Oh well I think I'm done talking.

What disturbs me here is that somehow you managed to work Britney Spears and Creed into the same sentence. Eeyulch!
