Drew Williams just posted some previwes of upcoming minis from Iron Winds...Some I think look ok (the Saggitaire and Bowman), some aren't all that good (we get our Snake, but I don't really like the look of it), some look very good, but are in slightly weird poses (the Hellion)...but it's the last one that he posted that got my attention...you'll see why...just save the one that was posted at 9:10 AM for last...

Well, it's a Snake; unless people have a fondness for mechs that suck I don't see this one getting purchased a lot.
The Chimera looks really well done, and the Bowman looks alright. The Zeus-X looks cool, but its stance is a little awkward.

What IS a Zeus-X? I know it's on the cover of Maxtech, but what does it do? Or is it just a little gimmick?
I love that 'mech and the Chimera and the Hellion. The Snake looks odd, but could be alright. Same for the Sagittaire, but I don't like the 'mech.
HOWEVER - I loathe the Bowman! What a let-down. Same thing happened in TRO: 3058. I flipped through it the first time and stopped at the Night Gyr and said: THIS IS MY MECH. Now, after having seen the model, it is the only Clan Mech I don't yet have. It seems that the same thing is happening here..... _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

The stats were done up for MFUK...it's a level three 80 tonner, moves 5/8 on an XXL engine, has 11 DHSs, a command console, 168 pts patchwork armor (standard plate on torsos and head, reactive on arms and legs), and is armed with a MRM-30 in the RA, a LB-20X in the LA with 2 tons MRM ammo and 3 tons LB ammo both in the RT (IIRC) protected by CASE II...also has 2 Clan ER Meds, 1 in the CT and one in the LT...
Don't know if they'll release a level 2 version or not...

Do you mean "they" might make another mini of an L3 mech? Or that "they" would make an official L3 design? The ZEUS-X is not official, since it is only an MFUK design. So the only reason the mini exists is because the picture caused enough demand for it.
I find MFUK's stats to kind of suck. An XXL engine and only 168 points of armor - yuck. However, this might make for a good design challenge for the B&G.

They made minis for the Battle Ax, original Behemoth, Fire Bee, origianl Vulcan (looks more like a Rifleman sorta of), original Gladiator...all of these were in semi-offical and offical FASA apporved game magazines....
So if they can do it for those mechs and now the Zeus X...why not more?
