Still working on 3125, Just In Case.

Here's one for the smarter people out there.

In addition to the good old fashioned 'Blow each other into spare parts' battle, I was looking to get some actual scenarios in place. Defend this, take that, scout over here ... that sort of thing.

Don't suppose anyone might have some in mind? Or know what reall missions look like, so I can just kinda fake it?

I'd be much obliged...

How about defending a MODL? It gives you a slow, enduring target to defend, but one that can be easily attacked. Everyone who has MW4 should remember "Ghost Highway," it was one of the more memorable missions in the game. You (as lance leader of a medium lance) were smuggled into a planet as part of a mining convoy. The object was to eliminate the MODL, but you first had to raid several firebases to obtain equipment. Finally, you learned where the MODL was and the mission commenced: a blackout emitter was p[laced in the middle of the area of ops, which was a highway with ruinged structures on the side. The MODL and its escorts passed through the highway, and you had to attack them. Really, really fun.

Mobile Orbital Defense Laser: Huge halftrack with a laser on top (naval PPC, maybe?), designed solely to shoot down dropships and other aircraft. Slow, but heavily armored with medium pulse lasers installed on the sides. I figured they'd be in BT, because every other vechicle in the game can be found there. In the game, it was the center of the campaign. You were out on your own until you took it some, so it called for seom resourceful fighting.

Here's an idea that I just had:

The Deathtrap.

The Death Trap is designed so that unless one specific, certain thing happens, one side is guaranteed to die; in example, two players represent direly opposed sides (for whatever reason) but when both sides get hammered a third, hostile-to-all party steps in. This can be used to teach assorted principles (teamwork/cooperation, sniping, hit + fade, discretion, etc.) In the above example, unless both sides cooperate, all will die.

I'd be less than happy if a GM put me in a single scenario where the only way I have any chance of winning is to team up with a person I'm fighting in the same scenario.

Might be a good idea for an extended campaign, but scenarios should be winable (or at least have attainable goals) using a variety of tactics.

There's always the intrusion or extraction sort of scenarios. Basically an attacking force escorts some infantry troop carriers into a hostile environment in order to pick up or drop off special infantry units.

So far that one and the Legion assault tank have not made it into the board, AFAIK nor as the Fire Ant mech....

A couple of good ones I have done have had a lance or so take to take and hold a commo station, and they face off against a larger defender.

Another one is one side is dug in and the other has to force them out.

Then there is the classic hunt and stalk scenario in city, lots fun with lots of Urbanmechs to get in the way. A big twist on this is to have the Urbanmechs fight both sides.
