The finer points of the breakdown in communications. Do you guys realise your replies make no sense because you completely change the topic? I went back and edited my "Yes, I could . . ." post. I was never saying a Penetrator could have a gunnery of 2 with that system. I was saying something like "you're right, but I'm too lazy to verify it."

LOL!!! I hate being completely wrong. Now that I reread your post, it makes perfect sense to me what you were referring to. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Lightmechs only live if there are larger mechs to take the heat. It doennt matter how much of a modifier you have if your the only target on the field.

I have to disagree, Carl. Given the statistical nature of the 2D6 roll, a large modifier can make things very hard, and even impossible. I've seen it done.

The problem with taking a light in the PBeM game isn't that lights don't work in PBeM.. It is more the basics of the game. For a well piloted light to defeat a decently pilotted heavy, it is generally a long term type affair. In this game, since you have to fight three opponents, the greater emphasis is on killing your opponent as fast as you can. This I believe is why the heavies do much better here.
Mediums and lighter mechs work well in PBeM.. Mordel remember the game where you all ganged up on me and Casey in our Vipers?

Of course I remember that game. I also remember that as much tag teaming as we did against you two, it didn't seem to matter. You still smoked our asses pretty good! _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Hmm, mabey I worded things wrong. Light mechs work best in conjuction with heavy mechs as a force multiplier.
