It looks like the DropChutes don't play well with Megamek when generating files. This might require some back-and-forth with Megamek to make sure it works correctly; Megamek only has one form of re-usable DropChute and the rest are all single-use but weighted.
Not sure what the best fix is; it'd probably getting Megamek to implement other re-usable DropChutes because that's what makes sense to mount on a vehicle. The zero-weight single use DropChutes could be implemented to have weight or not to integrate with Megamek; more testing needed.
Seems to be pretty good when generated for other purposes; no other flaws noted.

MegaMek had incorrectly implemented the DropChutes, pretty much across the board. Standard DropChutes do not require weight or crits, only the reusable ones do, but there is supposed to be a reusable version for each of the three weightless one. There's really nothing to do from my end until they implement a fix, and then I can see if I need to tweak anything here. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

| Figured; thanks for the quick response. They've implemented Trailer Hitches incorrectly, too - I haven't been able to use their Bug Report site for some reason, but that seems like a really simple fix that shouldn't have slipped by them.

Is the issue with trailer hitches in MML the fact they don't take up any slots when they should occupy 1?
Are you trying to enter the issue at https://github.com/MegaMek/megameklab/issues? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

| Yep. I was trying to use the "report bugs" link off Google, so I didn't pay too much attention to the actual link. That link appears to work, and I don't see anything involving Trailer Hitch in the search box so I might try reporting it.

Not all errata are created equal. This one annoys me more because the updates for it are going to be more intrusive than most. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

And it's almost worse because the impact is seemingly miniscule - 12 tractors and 36 trailers; 48 total canon units affected, most of which will have 0 impact to playability.
... Though that makes it exactly the kind of obscure thing I like to use.
Request to fix the weights and add 0-mass DropChute version in Megamek created after research, with your help and assistance. While I believe in implementing this, correctly, for the gamers who need it (population: me) - I have set the priority of the request to Low. No canon vehicles use it, nor are affected, the march to implement the functionality itself is likely to be slow-walked, and despite my proselytization, it's unlikely that most of the player base knows DropChutes exist.
But I have done this. For THE FUTURE.

Yeah, and now that I think about it, it may not be as big of a change as I made it out to be. I'm pretty sure I have some other equipment that is placed but doesn't technically take up item slots. So I should be able to follow the same logic.
