Overview:
Created to be a forward scout element in part thanks to helping found a new mercenary
company called "Sequere Nos", the Celosia is a take on the concept of a standard engine'd
heavy scout, one meant to be able to take enough of a beating to accurately relay
information before escaping relatively unmolested thanks to its speed. Furthermore should it
get into a protracted firefight it was inteded to be able to punch well enough and
accurately enough above its weight class to give typical scout 'mech harassers like the
common Phoenix Hawk pause.
Capabilities:
Working with a standard engine can at times limit a 35 ton chassis in its quest for the most
important armor for a 'mech of its tonnage: speed. In this case, the 'mech doesn't suffer
nor does it excel as it goes a standard of sixty four kilometers an hour at a walk with a
jump distance of two hundred and fourty meters. Thanks to its endo-composite skeleton, its
heavy ferro-fibrous armor allows the 'mech to mount an appreciable five tons of armor.
Rounding the basics of the chassis out is its ten double heat sinks, able to keep the 'mech
remarkably cool even after a maximum jump distance alpha strike.
For its primary mission profile, the Celosia was given two pieces of equipment. One was a
Bloodhound Active Probe mounted in the right torso to allow for the best detection possible
towards concealed units. The second was a head mounted piece of Target Acquisition Gear to
allow for the unit to call in artillery strikes or to better work as a spotter for units
equipped with semi-guided missiles.
For its weapon compliment, the 'mech's main armament is a right arm mounted medium variable
speed pulse laser. As the design was meant to be as close fighting as possible, the range of
270 effective meters for the laser were deemed acceptable. To further copliment its mission
role, give it backup weaponry should the 'mech lose its main armament, and ward off battle
armor elements, two small x-pulse lasers were mounted in the center torso to allow for
maximum fighting efficiency.
