The other day, a long time friend and BTecher, sent me an email asking this question:
Two Clan Warriors are figthing for a Bloodname, they are the finial combatants. During the battle to see who get's the name they both kill each other. How would the Clans handle this? And how would you handle it if you were the Khan of the Clan this happen in.
So, with that in mind I told him I would call the whole match void and start over with a new group in that Blood House. Some other folks who responded had different ideas and some had ones close to or like my own.
Now what would you folks do if you were the Khan of the Clan this happen in and how do you think the other Clans would react?

Well, the Bloodname has to be filled, so I would hold the trial all over again. Or the other option is that the two people who were beaten by these two would compete. Not sure if there's ever been a recorded occurrence of this happening. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I think they would re-do the whole trial, since the two defeated combatents failed before. _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.

Yes, they would re-do the whole trial. I have this from an official source, too. Mechwarriors Guide to the Clans

I almost forgot. There is a way to cheat someone out of a bloodname. It is call Reaving and it can be done by a bloodname house leader or a Khan (either that or an ilKhan, I forget which). Basically waht it does is puts the trial on hold indefinately, so that no one can fight or win. It can be revoked.
I will have to look in MW:GTC to find out who can start and end the Reaving.

But any warrior who feels cheated can just demand a Trial of Grievance (sp?) for it,
can`t he?

I would think it would be overtured because the trial is happening, just not in any discernable time soon. It's like a form of corruption I guess. _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.
