It would be convenient if there were an option to filter a search by visibility. Mostly because im not sure which of the designs I have written down are waiting on site updates (robotic units.) Or ive only half written the fluff. And I want to filter them down so they're easier to find.

What do you mean by visibility? There is a 'Privacy' option in the filters that allows you to filter on Private, Semi-Private, or Public. Or are you referring to something different? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Im not seeing that option to select in advanced filters. Nor is it a catagory i could sort by in "my units."
So far as I've noticed the option doesnt exist. Or its just being well hidden.

Alas it does not. It just loops back to returning the address without that tag. But details. Thanks for taking note of the request.

Enhancement created. I still need to finish off dual turrets, and once that is done, I'm going to have a small release with a lot of these quicker/easier enhancements and bugs that have been piling up over the last 9 months or so. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Just adding to one of my threads instead of making a new one.
Filter option for fluff. So I can weed out designs that are just a stack of stats.
Having date posted as a sortable option when results are listed. Or going to more trouble then its probably worth, having at least 1 sortable field be dynamic. Because today i want to sort by when a unit was posted, tonorrow by last update, and the day after by creator.
I'm going to assume you knew about solaris7.com before the last crash. I miss the more interactive review environment. Here the review process is disjointed and non obvious or promoted. Plus im fairly sure you're manually screening them, which inhibits them becoming a feature.

I'd actually prefer a separate thread for each topic so things don't get buried.

Are you looking for a filter like Contains/Not Contains "Fluff"?

I have an enhancement out there to be able to customize the columns that display. Which is only related to this because they'd be sortable. I do like the idea of having a more customizable sort option, similar to the filter, where you can select the columns to sort on.

I was familiar though didn't go there all that often. Reviews are approved by me, though no reason for that to be anymore these days. Unit submissions used to be as well, and I updated the code to take that piece out of it. How would you recommend the review feature work?
Also, it would be great if after this discussion you could create the enhancements in the request tool. I can do it for you, if wanted, but always nice when others put them in so I know they are aware how to. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Almost feel like i need to put in a request for the request feature to be more obvious. I found it. Mostly by pushing anything that might be a button. I dont often pay attention to the upper left corner. I can add more requests. The worry is burying you in trite meandering wishes that dont necessarily make sense.
Solaris7. And reviews
IMO, one of the features of S7 was the review culture. And one of the reasons i think it worked was views, reviews, and average score were front page information on newly posted mechs. Once you looked at a mech any posted reviews were visible at the bottom of the units TRO. From there discussions could start within the units TRO. Also you were sent an email when you got a review.
All those ingredients are on mordel. Its just that discussion takes place in the forum, seperate from the actual reviews which are behind a link in the TRO.
A good part of this discussion is what are the goals of this site. The rate that mechs are posted is higher then S7. You have an amazing mech designer. But the community that talks is a bit sparse.
Also bear in mind I'm being nostalgic. Rose tinting and a desire for validation for my designs here do apply.

Enter as many as you'd like. Depending on what's being worked on and how complicated they are to implement, some could get implemented quickly while others may languish. If things aren't clear I can always ask questions. But you won't overwhelm me, I can assure you of that.

Some of this should be fairly easy to implement. The discussion bit within the TRO not so much. But having the reviews front and center is pretty easy, and then having an easy link to the forums for discussion. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator
