Overview:
No one knows why the targeting computers failed. The leading theory is that the robes
managed to unleash a virus that forced incompatibility with the weapons that made the most
use of them. If that's true then it seems their little virus turned around and bit them on
the ass. A Wobbie Sagittaire had me dead to rights, and couldn't even manage to concentrate
any of his fire onto my torso's. Of course I was having the same problem at the time.
Fortunately perhaps my RAC was jammed at the time so I was able to punch him right in the
head. Must of knocked him out cold because that Sagittaire just keeled over. In case I
haven't mentioned it, I pilot an Eviscerator.
Capabilities:
When I first noticed my targeting computer was on the fritz I of course followed the usual
procedures. Diagnostics said the software was working, All the physical connections were in
place. And our bands tech backed me up on my own survey. Yet for some reason The T-com's
ability to concentrate my Medium Pulse laser array onto a single location just Wasn't
working. Instead I'd open fire and my shots would scatter wildly across my target. It took
me awhile but eventually I realized It was as if the Pulse lasers weren't getting any
benefit from the T-com. My RAC however was at least tracking targets as though a T-com was
attached to it, But if I tried to Aim through the T-com and unleash a burst of fire the
system seemed to just ignore me unless I fired with the most measured of rates. About that
time I noticed every Mech that made use of T-coms seemed to be having the same problems.
The loss of our Legionnaire drove the lesson home. Just a few bursts should of taken out
that Grigori. Instead the battle lasted long enough for the Grigori to pound our
Legionnaire into dust.
With no Idea why my Mech was so ineffective I did the next best thing I could think of; I
called customer service. Now mind you calling customer service over the HPG net when the
Wobbies own the HPG on your home planet is just a tad bit difficult, but so is fighting in a
Mech that's designed to survive off it's non functioning T-com. It took a bit of
subterfuge, but we got the call through. I'll say this about IPD, their warranties are
better then Ferro Fibrous armor. I'm not sure how they deliver so quickly, or how they just
seem to waltz by the Wobbies, but they delivered. I traded in my Eviscerator Mrk 2 for the
Mrk-3.
The Mrk-3 is similar to the old Mrk-2. It has lasers and a big gun attached to a Targeting
computer, same as the Mrk-1 and 2 before it. In this case however the plethora of Medium
Pulse lases was traded out for straight up good old fashioned Medium lasers. It was kind of
a change to get use to them. They're a bit harder to aim, but at least I can get them to
focus on target about half the time. This was still no where near what I expected, but the
sales rep explained it's the best they could do. Their leading theory is that the Gods who
run the universe thought it would be funny to change the rules when no one was watching.
Who knows the sales rep might be right. The Mrk-3 does try to deal with this problem
though. While the Medium Lasers give a semblance to the old Mrk-2, the LB-10x and SSRM--6
are a different kettle of fish. It seems IPD's theory is that if you can't beat the snot
out of them, you should poke them to death. With Cluster Munitions and a target lock from
the SSRM, the Eviscerator Mrk-3 delivers a virtual sand blasting. Given that even half
effective Medium lasers can open a hole in a armored carapace to exploit I suppose the
system works better then most. It also helps that the LB-10 does work with the Targeting
computer when I use Solid shot. It's not as satisfying as my RAC use to be, but at least it
can put more damage on target if it needs to. There was one other minor change to the
Mrk-3. Apparently feedback from other end users requested the inclusion of Jump Jets. IPD
seemed to decide that, "So let it be written, so let it be done."

Compiling.
At least 2 of 5 other variants detected.
Continue reconstruction.
Of note, data reconstruction on this model is unusually complete.

OOC: So this Eviscerator is the first version of trying to deal with the fall out of the
Tcom nerf. I have it dated as August of 2008. And I never liked it much.
