Basilisk quad.
On the MUL the BV is 258
on Mordel the BV is 255

Its the Melee System. (Both regular and quad, I've checked both.) Its BV should include the damage from the baseline frenzy attack, not just the additional damage from the weapon itself.

The BV for that weapon is already 5, which I believe is correct. The base 2 damage is 2, the weapon provides another 2, and the BV is Dmg * 1.25. The MUL may be wrong itself, I wouldn't trust it.

Normally I check with MML, but MML only has a BV of 1 for that weapon on the Basilisk, which is clearly wrong.

Quad Melee adds 4 damage for the basilisk for a total of 6.

MUL's BV matches when you consider the Quad Melee's weapon's bv to be 7.5 (6*1.25)

Its the mismatch between MML and Here that got me looking into this. Then we cross compared with the MUL and got a third answer.

You are correct. Looks like my BV calculations only account for the extra damage the weapon adds but not the original damage the frenzy attack provides; either 1 or 2, depending on tonnage.

Correct. I think the simple rule is 1 point of damage for a frenzy for every 5 tons or fraction thereof. Just in case they decide to create Super Ultra Heavy ProtoMechs! Very Happy

Breaks with a 10 ton protomech which is technically ultra heavy.

But yes, it would make more sense to do it that way.

And another thing.


The quad protomech melee weapon can only be mounted in the torso. But the site is allowing me to place it in the main gun location. Pg 67 IO

It is restricted to the torso. I just tried and I get a violation notice when I try to place it in the main gun.

Ok weird.

If i start a new protomech and just try to add the quad melee to the main gun I get the warning.

If I edit this, add a main gun and move the quad melee system to it, i do not get the error.

Skipped a step in explaining. Just saved the illegal design.

That helped! Seems to be an issue with editing/loading a design with a ProtoMech Quad Melee Weapon. Creating a fresh one is fine, and the system will have a Restriction of "Torso'. But editing a design or loading a design with the system allows you to remove it from the location, and the restriction is empty.
