Variants:
When creating production lines for a home-built heavy BattleMech, Hadrian Mechanized
Industries personnel looked for a well-rounded design used for centuries in the Inner Sphere
on which to provide the basis for their production capabilities. Naturally, the Warhammer
was one of the first designs reviewed. Building on the old WHM-6R model, the new WHM-7H
takes what was previously present and builds on that framework. Extended range particle
cannons and medium lasers provide greater range, as do small X-pulse lasers; while at the
same time, the latter improves anti-infantry abilities for the design. As a additional
surprise, four racks of ten rockets each lay hidden behind armor panels in the machine’s
chest, allowing for a tremendous single-shot volley when needed, or a few extra explosives
over the course of the battle if a single volley isn’t desired. The short-range missile
launcher and machine guns stay the same, although ammo for the latter was reduced to allow
for the inclusion of a CASE system to protect both types of munitions from explosions.
Double heat sinks help to mostly control the excessive amounts of heat these weapons can
generate; unless the MechWarrior gets too overzealous in his actions. And finally, an extra
ton of armor and a change to ferro-fibrous plating provides greater protection to the
design.
