Overview:
    The OGN-1X Ostgun is a design conceived for the SLDF Gunslinger Program by Kong Interstellar
    Corporation as a BattleMech capable of ending a duel quickly. With the advent of the Amaris
    Civil War it never got past the pre-production stage and ended up forgotten in an R&D file.
    In 3022 Oonthrax Stables on Solaris VII somehow ended up in possession of the specifications
    for the Ostgun and proceeded to build the design based on a salvaged Ostsol wreck. The 'Mech
    was completed in 3024 and given to a Stable darling, Jaxon Oonthrax.

Capabilities:
    The OGN-1X Ostgun is another 60 ton walker/pod 'Mech like the Ostroc and the Ostsol, with
    the same movement profile, but much heavier armor and a completely different weapon loadout.
    It also utilizes a very unconventional ammo feed mechanism, which may be why the design
    ended up forgotten.

Deployment:
    The OGN-1X Ostgun, named "Polyphemus" by its pilot Jaxon Oonthrax, has only been deployed
    once in a Class Four Charity Match.

Variants:
    None. The OGN-1X Ostgun has the following Design Quirks: Ammunition Feed Problem (CT),
    Battle Fists*, Cowl, Exposed Weapon Linkage (AC/20), Extended Torso Twist, Jettison-Capable
    Weapon (AC/20)*, Unbalanced. *If the AC/20 is jettisoned, the 'Mech regains Right Lower Arm
    and Hand Actuators and Right Battle Fist.

Notable MechWarriors:
    Jaxon Oonthrax was a scion of a minor noble House that owned one of the oldest Stables on
    Solaris VII.

    for the Ostgun and proceeded to build the design based on a salvaged Ostsol wreck. The 'Mech
    was completed in 3024 and given to a Stable darling, Jaxon Oonthrax.

Capabilities:
    The OGN-1X Ostgun is another 60 ton walker/pod 'Mech like the Ostroc and the Ostsol, with
    the same movement profile, but with heavier armor and a completely different weapon loadout.
    It also utilizes a very unconventional ammo feed mechanism, which may be why the design
    ended up forgotten. The primary weapon, a modified Mydron A class 20 autocannon, is
    'hand-held,' though jettisonable only if explosive mounting bolts are activated. The ammo
    for the weapon is stored in a center torso magazine. Prior to each shot the AC/20's loading
    port in the gun butt must be docked to the center torso ammo feed port to advance an AC
    round into the weapon. Though the computer program and arm actuation design is brilliant in
    achieving this action, the mechanism leaves the weapon and its ammo feed vulnerable to
    damage. The ten tubes in a drum in the AC/20 contain an elastic gel that absorbs the recoil
    when a round is fired. The tubes advance for the next shot so that the gel may cool off.
    Almost as an afterthought, a Defiance B3M Medium Laser is mounted in the left forearm along
    with a Zippo Flamer, both with weapon ports in the palm of the hand actuator. The Ostgun is
    fast, well armored and deadly with its AC/20, however it is ungainly due to the 14 tons it
    wields alone with its right arm and the vulnerability of that weapon to being put out of
    commission makes the design a questionable one at best.

Deployment:
    The OGN-1X Ostgun, named "Polyphemus" by its pilot Jaxon Oonthrax, has only been deployed
    once in battle on April 2, 3024 for a Despiser Day Charity Match in the Xolara Arena on
    Solaris VII. It has subsequently found a home in Team Banzai's Radar Blazers battalion,
    where it is being repaired and its uniqueness examined.

    The OGN-1X Ostgun has the following Design Quirks:
    
    Ammunition Feed Problem (CT), Battle Fists*, Cowl, Exposed Weapon Linkage (AC/20), Extended
    Torso Twist, Jettison-Capable Weapon (AC/20)*, Unbalanced.
    
    *If the AC/20 is jettisoned, the 'Mech regains Right Lower Arm and Hand Actuators and Right
    Battle Fist.

Notable MechWarriors:
    Jaxon Oonthrax was a scion of a minor noble House that owns one of the oldest Stables on
    Solaris VII. He has since been disowned.
