Still working on 3125 stuff.

One thing is that games would be played on tabletop, not premade maps. As such, the ubiquitous 6X4 or 8X4 Games Workshop table is the most likely to be found in gamestores, and, thus, is the scale that would be played on.

Obviously, this would result in game changes. To try and balance it out, and to add a smidge more realism, I was considering taking all ranges and simply doubling them. This promotes ranged combat a bit more, and weakens the speedy lil' guys some, but brings power back to missiles, which nearly vanished.

What do you think? Good? Bad? Needs some playtesting, obviously, but I'd like to see how it goes out there.

Bounce a lil' feedback, if'n you would?

well, you know my take on the subject, reasonably realistic ranges could be achieved by making hexes 100 meters ( 3x increase)

I think that's the scale Battleforce uses, the conversion would be easier to do in table top games, because you can get more precision with centimeters than inhexes increments.

This would work best for large scale battles, movement I think it's the most consmunign thing in Battletech, and not as fun as combat.

Battletech works well for a skirmish between patrols, but gets bogged down fr battles larger than a lance on each side.

Using figures, and an increased scale, you can play larger battles and have the feeling of two phalanxs of 'Mechs inching across the table at each other, more in line with tank combat feeling.

It also solves one of the biggest flaws of the game , the backstabbing bouncing bastards and roadrunners, those 'Mechs that abuse Jump Jepts and speed to get behind you and kill you with a backshot.

Me and my friend tried this on a 40k tables that was left unused. It works pretty well using the miniature rules. My friend liked it too until I hit him with two gauss at 42 inches.
