Hello Everyone!
So felt the need to self-confess but... I am totally out of practice!! I downloaded Megamek (also - that has improved so much it's awesome) and played a few scenarios vs bots. Just couldn't manage my units properly. Could see the mistakes I was making after I made them but it was a brutal reminder that I have to practice.
I lost an Awesome in 3 rounds. OOF! And I had an Archer that only provided shade for the bot BattleMaster to fight under. My best performance was with my Warhammers and Phoenix Hawks. I managed to keep my heat under control for all four (two warhammers, two phoenix hawks) and managed to blast away a number of their mechs - including their Warhammer, an Orion, two Wasps, and a Javelin. In total I lost a Wasp, a Scorpion, an Awesome, a Griffin Hawk, and was on the verge of losing my Archer and Shadow Hawk before I ran out of time to play. Sadly their barely touched BattleMaster, another Orion, and two other Assaults still had the field and I had nothing heavy enough to oppose them. So I called it a loss for me.
It was a brutal yet awesome slug fest. I'm going to keep practicing!

Sounds fun, and reminds me I should really install it and give it another try. It's been quite a few years last I looked at it as well!
