Okay so I am toying around with this idea for a 3025 Striker Lance:
Wolverine
Griffin
Rifleman
Marauder

Probably not what you mean, but the thing has been somewhat codified as follows:
wrote: | p. 66 Campaign Operations
STRIKER/CAVALRY LANCE
Striker Lance Formations, also known as Cavalry Lances, are made up of fast-moving units that can quickly bring their firepower into combat, while also possessing enough armor to survive an engagement and withdraw—or to hold the line long enough for the main force to arrive.
Requirements: All units in a Striker/Cavalry Lance must have a minimum Walk/Cruise speed of 5, or a Jump movement of 4 or more.
No units in a Striker/Cavalry Lance may be of assault weight class or above.
At least 50 percent of the Striker/Cavalry Lance must have the Striker or Skirmisher unit Roles.
Ideal Role: Striker
Bonus Ability: 75 percent of the units in this Formation receive the Speed Demon Special Pilot Ability (see p. 80).
Variations: There are five variants of the basic Striker/Cavalry Lance: the Hammer Lance, the Heavy Striker/Cavalry Lance, the Horde, the Light Striker/Cavalry Lance and the Ranger Lance
Hammer Lance
Hammer and Anvil Lances are trained to work together, the faster Hammer Lance hitting the enemy in the flank or rear while they are distracted by the Anvil Lance.
Requirements: Exclusive to House Marik Forces. All units must have a minimum Walk/Cruise speed of 5.
Ideal Role: Striker
Bonus Ability: At the beginning of each turn, up to two Hammer Lance units may receive either the Jumping Jack or Speed Demon SPA. The player may assign the same SPA to both units, or one unit may receive Jumping Jack and the other unit Speed Demon.
Heavy Striker/Cavalry Lance
Requirements: All units in this Formation must have a minimum Walk/Cruise speed of 4, regardless of jumping capability.
At least three units must be heavy or larger; light units may not be included.
At least one unit in this Formation must have a weapon that can do at least 5 damage at a range of 18 hexes or more.
At least two units in this Formation must have the Striker or Skirmisher unit Roles.
Bonus Ability: As per the standard Striker/Cavalry Lance.
Horde
Captain Mercer Ravannion was the most well-known proponent of using large numbers of “bug” ’Mechs, the very lightest and most common ’Mechs in existence, to swarm and overwhelm their larger brethren. Ravannion himself was defeated trying to prove his theory, but others occasionally try to “fix” his mistakes and prove the effectiveness of swarming.
Requirements: The Formation must consist of five to ten units; all units must be light.
No unit may have the ability to do more than 10 damage at a range of 9 hexes or more.
Bonus Ability: Swarm—When any unit in this Formation is targeted by an enemy attack, that unit’s player may switch the target to any other unit in this Formation that is still a legal target (e.g., within line of sight) and at the same range or less from the attacker. This ability can only be used by units which spent Running, Jumping, or Flank movement points that turn.
Force Building Special Rules: This Formation still only generates
4 Faction Points, regardless of the number of units it contains (see the Combat Manual series for rules on Faction Points).
Light Striker/Cavalry Lance
Requirements: All units in this Formation must have a minimum Walk/Cruise speed of 5, regardless of jumping capability.
No unit may be heavy or larger, and at least two units in this formation must have a weapon that can do at least 5 damage at a range of 18 hexes or more.
At least two members of the Light Striker/Cavalry Lance must have the Striker or Skirmisher unit Roles.
Bonus Ability: As per the standard Striker/Cavalry Lance.
Ranger Lance
Ranger Lances are trained for combat in special terrain, favoring heavy cover or terrain that would hinder other forces’ movement.
Requirements: No unit in this Formation may be assault weight or larger.
Ideal Role: Skirmisher
Bonus Ability: At the beginning of play, 75 percent of the units in this Formation receive one Terrain Master SPA. The same Terrain Master variation must be assigned to these units. | _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

That was probably exactly what I was looking for! So based on what I see, you're really shooting for the Heavy Striker Lance given the minimum of 4 Walkinng MP requirement? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Just went with the idea, seemed like a good combo of mechs, and since they had ranges covered...Striker sounded good. _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

I generally prefer more mobility. When I think "striker", I think get in, hit 'em, get out. So 4/6 is ok, but only if they have 4 jump. Otherwise, to me, they almost need to be 5/8. But personal preference. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I might go with something like:
Pheonix Hawk
Wolverine
Dragon/Grand Dragon
Quickdraw
5-8-5 or better, Laser heavy
That is what I think of when I see Striker Lance _________________ "My Blood is not mine to give, it belongs to my Brothers"

The Dragon / Grand Dragon doesn’t have jump jets.

Do we know if they've adopted Orca's yet for that role? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I'm not sure whether they managed to push them through all the comissions, but I think they might go directly to some of the tripods in the end. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!
