Okay so when using the mech editor here, how do I fill in the fluff for Manufacturer and the rest? _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

At the moment, you can't. I have an enhancement request in for that (www.mordel.net/ers.php?a=v&r=495), but there has never been a big push for it. On the surface it's simple enough to add. But collecting all the possible manufacturers of the various pieces of equipment, that's a big task. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Maybe you can implement a blank space and let it in the responsibility of the designer of the mech to enter the equipment as they wish. That would free you from entering vast lists of manufacturers. _________________ Reality is where the Pizza-man comes from!'Gucken, petzen, verpissen!' Taking the above idea and maybe setting up a way to capture the info we enter for the weapon makers and the rest...that way you get a continuous list that is a good mix of things. _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

Not a bad idea. Can have a textbox that auto-populates suggestions based on what you type. But it will also accept new entries. Then as new entries are added, it populates into a lookup table which feeds back into the suggestion cox. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Hey all. So I made all the updates for this and they are on the Sandbox site (same username/password as the main site as it's just a DB copy). I won't be around much this weekend, so will wait for Monday to push everything live as I like being around in case my update breaks something.
I made some major improvements to the auto-suggest boxes that appear (UI is nicer, Prev/Next links, shows total # results, better event handling).
I also moved the various pages for unit design into tabs along the top.
And finally, manufacturer information. Everything is auto-suggest with the ability to enter your own values. So you can use what is already present, or you can enter your own if it doesn't exist yet. If entering your own, it saves your values to the DB and they'll be available for future searches on other designs. It saves the values based on "type" of component. So if I entered 'Type VI' for a Streak SRM-6, then that suggestion will only appear on lookups related to Streak SRM-6s.
Anyways, if anyone is available and wants to have a play with it, the sandbox URL is sandbox.mordel.net/index.php. Let me know if there's any feedback. If I hear nothing, I'll push all these live on Monday. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator
