Quick question are some of the costs off in the mech editor?
I ask because using Rick's program and your's I am getting TWO different prices for the same equipment in use that has been around since MaxTech.
I can email you an example if you would like. _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

Some examples would be great! I've validated my costs a lot in the past, but I did just redo some of my internal tables, so it's possible I introduced an error with some items. Let me know what they are and why you think they're wrong, I'll have a look. It's also important to note that that values for some things have changed since the early days, especially the stuff in MaxTech! _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

OK, so, technically both are correct. Rick's uses the old methodology which also incorporates the cost of the ammunition. Mine uses the methods described in TechManual pg 282, which states:
"As a general guide, when using these figures to compute a unit’s final cost, it is not necessary to purchase ammunition for ammo-based weaponry. (Combat units, after all, are generally assembled with weapons and fuel tanks empty to avoid mishaps, and ammo purchases are best left up to field commanders.)"
The cost examples in the book also exclude ammo when calculating. You can see I list ammo but state "[Empty Bin]". It's not to say his is wrong, it's just not the way cost is "officially" calculated anymore. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

For those who care about cost (which isn't you or I), then it makes sense. Since the ammo cost is something that varies based onm ammo type in a campaign setting. I toiled with the idea of putting two costs, but figured it would just confuse folks. So I settled on what is deemed official. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator
