One small change from normal... in my other games, if you didn't submit a movement order, I still allowed you to fire. WHich made sense because there was no "move" requirement. However, in this game, because you are required to move at least one hex, should you fail to send a movement order, you will be penalized. And that penalty will be the inability for you to fire any weapons or perform any physicals that turn. However, folks can happily still fire at you.

There was a certain mathematical symmetry built into the 3025 game that was unbalanced when they introduced the clans, but got totally hosed when they tried to balance the inner sphere against the clans afterwards.
The reason that I used to do so well in the 3025 games was that I could do all the probabilities in my head, and the movement, firing and heat management was like looking at a three layer picture. Now that picture looks like it was painted by Picasso, and Mad Max.

The key here is simple...kill the quick 'mechs as they run by you. That's how it's done on a tabletop, that's how it's done here.
The big difference is on the tabletop version you can block and force turns because 'mechs block paths. In this kind of game they do not, so no blocking.

This! 
I mean, he's ONLY a 1 pilot. That last turn or two or three is gonna be at +5 or +6! Let me tell you, 6s and 7s are extremely easy to fail. And if he fails one of those last turns, he is effectively scrap metal.
