Serves them right, though they had a good team, they would have never won the World Cup at France 98 if it weren't for a series of flukes. Got classified in the first place for being the hosting country, referees always "help" the home team, got paired in semifinals with unstoppable Bulgaria that inexplicably went to sleep that day, and won the final against Brazil in the penalties series, after a scoreless match. Unbelievable.
And no, I'm not bitter that they won Spain in the Europe championship, despite being completely exhausted Spain was completely superior during the whole match, and lost due to a sad fumble of our goalkeeper and missing a penalty in the last minute that would have given us victory.
It looks like France's ill gotten luck has finally ran out. Belated justice, but justice at last.
