BattleMech: Jenner JR7-K
Rating: 2.00
Comment: As an upgrade this sucks.
The Jenner, as much as i like it, has two problems: low armor and heatdissipation. And this addresses none of them.
Ok, now it has CASE but i doubt that this is enough in a 3050 environment.
At least DHS would have been a must.

BattleMech: Jenner JR7-D
Rating: 3.50
Comment: I love this mech despite it´s drawbacks. It´s fast, jumpcapable and has heavy firepower.
But it´s only lightly armored and has some serious heatproblems.
Against most other lights it will be the winner but keep moving at all cost.

BattleMech: Jenner JR7-C
Rating: 1.50
Comment: A C3-slave isn't a bad idea on a Jenner as it tends to get close often but the quad lasers were always the backbone of its firepower and the removal of one laser irritates me.
If they had removed the SRM instead and upped the armor it would be much better.
Still DHS's are needed to survive in its time frame just like the -K.

BattleMech: Javelin JVN-11D
Rating: 4.00
Comment: A heavily upgraded JVN-10F with lots of ammo-less firepower. TC and C3-slave are very nice additions to its arsenal too.
But even if mounting 11 DHS's the weapons and jump-jets can easily overtax them so be carefull. The XL is dangerous though. If reducing the weaponry to four ER lasers the saved weight can give it a standard engine and half a ton of armor. Wouild make it a lot cheaper too.
But as it is its a dangerous backbiter and light mech hunter.

BattleMech: JagerMech JM7-D
Rating: 3.50
Comment: Heavy firepower, the heat sinks to use them (Ok: don't alpha strike all the time) and an enormous amount of armor (Hey, it carries more than twice the armor protection of the old JM6-S.
To accomplish that this JagerMech had to be brought up to 70 tons (The same configuration on a 65 ton ES-chassis will give it 10,5 tons of standard armor or 12,5 tons when dropping the pulse lasers to standards).
I personally don't like variants that increase their weight to be better.

BattleMech: JagerMech JM6-S
Rating: 2.50
Comment: This is a firesupport Mech and nothing else. Put it on a hill way behind the front and keep on shooting. If something comes close retreat backwarts and fire away while calling your lancemates for help. If no lancemate is at hand in the moment: You´ll have a problem.
But if nobody manages it to close you have some firepower, lots of ammo, no heatproblems and enough armor to counter the one or another occasional long range hit .

BattleMech: JagerMech JM6-H
Rating: 2.50
Comment: Even if i don't bother building a Periphery mech with FF and RL's this has to much hightech for being a cheap low tech upgrade.
The six medium lasers mentioned before would give it unexpected firepower (as do the RL's but only for one or two salvoes).
The large lasers give it some firepower at medium ranges and the LB-2X' are good for some sniping.

BattleMech: JagerMech JM6-DD
Rating: 2.50
Comment: Like its predecessor this upgraded version is a firesupport mech that should be kept well away from the front.
The UAC´s gives it some more firepower but the XL makes it both expensive and vulnerable.
The armor is somewhat better but should have been upped by an additional 2 tons instead of taking pulselasers.

BattleMech: Jackal JA-KL-55
Rating: 4.00
Comment: This is really an upgrade. The useless single heat-sinks were dropped for a heat-dissipation system thats worth the ER-PPC. The AMS was dropped too to fit a useful TC in. Quite fast, even better armored and equipped with a far reaching, accurate and heavy main-weapon this will be a premier light sniper and scout hunter.

BattleMech: Jackal JA-KL-1532

Comment: Good speed and armor combined with a far reaching, heavy weapon would make that a dangerous foe but with that 11 single heat sinks it isn´t able to keep up the pressure.
It has even more heat problems than the 3050 Panther.
Switch to 10 DHS´s and add a half ton of armor and a CASE, which wouldn´t prevent your mech from being taken out of action but you´ll have something to pull from the field after the fight.
A second streak launcher would have been of more use than that AMS too to give it a stronger support up close and to make use of that 50 shots of ammo.
