BattleMech: Komodo KIM-2A
Rating: 3.50
Comment: Sure: it has some firepower lost but it gained range to avoid being blasted by an enemy out of its medium laser range.
Now it is even able to do an alpha strike at full jump without negative effects.
It is not so much specialized like its predecessor and so can be used under more circumstances.

BattleMech: Kintaro KTO-C
Rating: 4.00
Comment: An easy C3 upgrade of the "Kuritan" KTO-20 that would be very useful in the early 3050's in which it was built.
As good as its predecessor with some premier targeting data.
Around 3060 it would be a bit outdated though.

BattleMech: Kintaro KTO-19
Rating: 2.50
Comment: This old Star League design has some serious flaws.
No real longrange weapon, no CASE for all that ammo and too little heat dissipation capability to use its impressiv shortrange weaponry.
JJ´s would have been useful for a narcer too.
On the other side it has lots of armor, some speed and no dangerous XL.

BattleMech: Kintaro KTO-18
Rating: 3.00
Comment: The 3025 Kintaro has good speed, almost full armor and heavy short range firepower.
That tiny bit of long range weapon is for harassing only and too light to do serious damage.
The lack of a real long range weapon isn´t such of a problem because 5/8 is fast for a 3025 mech but it suffers a lot from overheating.
Using it´s arsenal calls for ammo explosions quickly.
To solve this partly you can replace the LRM-5 and one SRM-6 by a LRM-10 plus a ton of ammo and a heatsink or replace the LRM-5 by 3 heatsinks.

BattleMech: King Crab KGC-001
Rating: 3.50
Comment: The gauss rifles on this one give it a totally different mission profile.
Instead of waiting for prey in a city this KingCrab goes out there to crush them at long range.
At shortrange it gets better too with a large pulse laser and some crit seekers supporting the gauss rifles (Hey, 2 hexes of min range aren´t that much of a problem).
More of a problem are those single heat sinks if the machine fights at close range and those 100 shots of streak ammo while the LRM has only 8 (nothing that can´t be fixed easily).

BattleMech: King Crab KGC-0000
Rating: 3.50
Comment: This is built for only one use: pound your opponent to scrap at short range.
Cover your steady advance (if you have to) with LRM and laserfire and let loose the AC´s when you´re there.
Put a veteran or elite pilot in that to make sure that you don´t waste your shots. The ammo bins are very small.

BattleMech: King Crab KGC-000
Rating: 2.50
Comment: Sure its an old Star League design and those are mostly equipped with few level 2 gimmicks but on this one the designers made some seriously wrong decisions.
An ES sceleton would have solved the armor and ammo shortage easily.
I give it a rating one point lower than the Succession War version not because it is worse but because it could have been designed a lot better in its timeline of 2750.
It is a speciality mech though build to crush enemies at short range and has to be covered by long range mechs when it has to advance.

BattleMech: Katana (Crockett) CRK-5003-C
Rating: 3.50
Comment: This Katana drops that useless small lasers for a C3 slave and will gain usefullness.
Still it is a short to medium range brawler and will be a sitting (but heavily armored) duck out in an open field.
So choose your terrain carefully and rely on your C3 network.

BattleMech: Katana (Crockett) CRK-5003-2
Rating: 3.00
Comment: Not really a bad mech but inferior to its parent design.
A medium range combat unit that can be used best in a city.
Its slow speed will make it a sitting duck in the open (but a really heavy armored duck).

BattleMech: Kabuto KBO-7A
Rating: 3.00
Comment: A fast light striker with full armor (even though that isn´t much) and dangerous crit seekers.
In this you´ll have to be constantly on the run to avoid damage as much as you can and to keep the to-hit modifiers high.
The ammo isn´t as much of a problem as it seems: The streaks will mother their shots on their own and so it tends to be out of armor before it is out of ammo.
