Definitely one of the Clan mechs that knows what it's doing. Pulse and targeting computer are absurd alone, but jump jets just make it all the better.
The only thing that keeps this from going all meta is the extra weapons in place of heatsinks.
Also the CGL design looks so cool. So extra points for that. |

Totally underrated. On par with the glorious Prime variant IMHO.
Pulse means more shots land often, and cluster rounds give it crit seeking versatility. All this for a range and slight max damage drawback. On top of that, it's CHEAP in terms of BV for Clanner mechs. If you account for that, it's probably better than the Prime overall. |

Let's break this down shall we...
The AC10 is traded in for a PPC, which does the same damage without the dependency on ammo.
Two medium lasers are added.
The engine is faster, with an extra jump jet to boot.
And enough heatsinks to fire that PPC again and again without issue.
This is an amazing urbie upgrade! Absolutely amazing! |

A Clan laserboat with the heatsinks to handle it AND a gauss for a ranged attack? YES |

Slower and oversinked. Marginal armor upgrade. More expensive.
There are MadCat variants that do this way better, even if they have their heat endurance problems. This, however, is just plain deficient, even when you add in you can alpha strike at a manageable heat threshold. |

Trades the rear laser for a heat sink. I can get behind that! |

Okay, maybe a Hunchback with an XL engine sounds dumb at first, BUT allow me to present my argument:
Every Hunchback and most swayback variants tend to be extremely dependent on having both torsos alive, mostly due to having the ammo on one side and the big gun on the other. Even the 4P follows this by dumping all its heat sinks on the left torsos.
So, when a Hunchback loses a side torso, it is at best relegated to a medium and small laser.
But with this mech, until you lose said side torso, you are a Hunchback that can run 97.2 kph with an AC/20.
It is hilarious, and terrifying. |

Pretty much a Nightstar that trades slight firepower for durability by not having an XL engine |

Turns into a bit of a Brawler with those guns. A Rotary AC/5 and 2 ER Large Lasers isn't something to scoff at. While it also has a Light Fusion, it at least isn't an XL. Extra armor at least helps to compensate. |
