Some serious flaws of the original -V2 are addressed here: better (not really good but better) armor, more close range firepower and better usage of the heatsinks. But still i get an aching stomach by looking at all that ammo in its CT. I would put it into the LT and drop a pulse laser for a CASE and another 1,5 tons of armor. |

This is one of my favorite IS assaults and is way better than the V2. I've managed to take down Daishis with this thing. It's got good armor and an AMS to keep it alive despite the XL engine. It also has weapons for both long and short range. The Gauss-ERPPC combo can take down most lighter mechs and the pulses can take down anything that manages to get close. The pulses also have a amazing crit seeking ability, especially after the PPC and Gauss have made big holes. The machine guns can damage those pesky light mechs and elementals that try and get behind you. This mech's speed is also really good for its weight class, allowing you to out maneuver most assaults and keep up with most heavies. The mech's only real problem is heat, but as long as you use your weapons at the proper range and don't alpha strike too often, you shouldn't have too much trouble. The BV isn't bad either, for an assault mech. I try to field this mech whenever I can. |

More plating on this thing will be in order. The rearward MGs are actually quite nice for close up dirty urban combat which looks like what this mech is geared but you won't need that many reloads. 3 MGs and half ton ammo would be a better investment.
The AMS isn't too good on this thing, more armor will be better for this mech.
The weapon loadout is a tad light for the mech, but 6 medium pulse lasers will surely make any mech pause for a thought. The Gauss and ERPPC combo is de rigour for its era, so nothing too fancy here. More GR ammo is in order though and the mech can safely lose 1 DHS for that.
The Mech's speed is good and can function very well in heavy lances, however its underarmed and too quick for most assault lances, so use it like the command mech of a heavy company. |

Very good. The long-range firepower may not be anything special, but the high speed allows it to close relatively quickly and bring the pulses into play. The machine guns actually add a lot to the mech- nothing is more embarrassing than losing an assault mech to infantry that you couldn't be bothered to turn around and wipe out with the big guns. Good against elementals, too. Just remember that it's not a sniper, and any pilot should do okay. |

Much better. The PPC and Gauss for for long range, and the MPLs will slaughter anything that gets up close. Slightly lightly armored though, which keeps it from a four. Lose the MGs for a ton of AMS ammo and some armor. Or lose MGs and AMS both for armor, and maybe a ton of Gauss ammo. |
