The light gauss can reach very far and has lots of ammo while the UAC has a heavy punch but is rather unreliable. The lasers and the streak are a good self defense battery but suffer from a real flaw:
All the ER lasers were put into the legs and so are only able to fire in the direction the mech moves in. Rather problematic in a defense situation.
I don't like this Perseus. |

This mech is deadly at all ranges. Granted, it will be pretty useless when its ammo runs out, but with 6 tons of ammo, this mech isn't going to run out unless your in a big engagement. The armor is also good for an XL, and the heat sinks let you run and shoot everything in one turn. This is probably one of the better Perseus configuration, and my personal favorite. |

Dropping down the UAC-10 for an LB-10x and maybe a ton of AC ammo will net you the head chopper and a crit seeker for the holes the gauss will leave on your enemy.
Again its pretty much the pilot's choice. UAC-10s are good for upclose fights and the LGR isnt shabby at range. But i prefer the ability to head chop someone or at least fill his insides with pellets. ;)
My only gripe is the Streak 2. 50 shots is alot of ammo to cook off.

I'm not a fan of the light gauss rifle; a few more tons and this could carry a "real" headchopping gauss rifle. |

I think this one is more of a test platform for the light gauss, but is still a viable design. Able to snipe with the light gauss, and with enough ammo to keep the weapon supplied for long fights. The UAC is a nice back up weapon to the gauss, as well. The mech is somewhat of an ammo addict, however. The ER lasers will let the mech defend itself when all the ammo is gone. |
