How useful would you guys say Guardian ECM is for aerospace fighters? I have a tendancy to use it on 'Mechs if I've got room, just in case it comes in handy. But I'm not sure if it would be useful for a fighter.

I can't see it getting much use. Not much C3 or Streaks in space. Mostly just pulses and autocannons. Although you could have some fun with disrupting comunications playing tag with a drop ship if you were sucidal in my mind.
Its an interesting niche item to add. Doesn't do much normally.

It comes in handy to deal with ArtIV and some of the other things you can encounter.
If you have it and are using any kind of ECM rules you can really drive the other player(s) nuts with it and they will do their best to take it out.
We had one battle where a player had a fighter that was nothing but 2 Medium lasers and the rest was ECM...over the course of the battle he managed to get the other player over exposed and then pounced him with some other fighters.
All of that lead to an interesting disucisson on/about ECM and how we could use it better etc...

I like the sound of that.
What sorts of ECM rules do you mean, if I might ask?
Edit:
While we're at it. I'm showing my lack of knowledge here, but what about Beagle? I might include it just for fluffiness, as I'm working up a scout at the moment. But is it of any real use?

Again i see this comment... WHY!? Guardian ECM has no effect on streak SRMs. Why do ppl keep listing Streaks when discussing them?

On top of that, what effect does ECM have when mounted on a warship or jumpship?

One of these days I'll manage to say Artimes IV rather than Streak. I apologize vagabond.

The ones from Max Tech are used and we have some Level 4 rules aka house rules that we use. Mainly what is jammed ared things like ArtIV, C3 Systems and other electronics as listed in the BMR-R and MaxTech. Depending on the Tech level in play to start with being level two (GECM) or Level three Angel, we go by those.
Then for the level 4 or home rules for those who don't like them being called Level 4 even though Randall has labled them that but I am going off topic on this point, anyways, we allow the ECM to jam commo, and add a +1 to the to hit roll. We have some other rules we use and I will post them for you.
