Overview:
This is the personal mech of officer (mercenary rank, Commision 2) Conrad Woodstock of the mercenary unit Lindon's Battallion.
Exactly how he obtained his LAM is a bit of a mystery; a variety of stories have since cropped up. All the different versions, however, have it that he somehow encountered the mech while it was crippled after a battle. He has since spent considerable time, effort, and money to get it running again.

Why does this LAM have c3 in it? C3 was developed long after the Star League, and if this guy found the LAM in a cache, then it wouldn't have c3. I could see a TAG unit; it could spot for Arrow IV, which definately fits it's role as a special forces type unit that LAMs were designed to be.

In addition to repairing it, the machine was also customized (note that the lasers are ERs, not regulars). The C3 is there as Lindon's Battallion is famous for its use of C3 equipment; as such, it would make sense that one was added.

That's a fine line to walk storywise, especially when dealing with rare lostech such as this. Switching out regular mediums for ERs is problematic enough (updating the targeting computer and heat systems software) even though it is normally a fairly easy modification, but the electronics and software needed to install a C3 and get it to mesh with teh other systems will be a headache at the very least.
Of course, this could lead to some explanations as to why the systems tend to go wonky at random times.

I have the event rolls to justify him being a total daredevil, so he'd actually be laughing at stuff like that.
