Overview:
Created for the 5th North Star Free Company, The Stalker STK-4S "Typhoon" was made to act as
a concealed operational fire support asset. A rebuild of a Stalker STK-3F, the engine's heat
sinks are converted to double to compensate for the heat of the stealth armor and missile
launchers. Though first announced as a new capability in 3067, it is rumored to have been
used in an "unofficial" capacity as far back as 3063. Only one is known to exist, but the
conversion of further units has been rumored.
Capabilities:
The STK-4S carries a single Arrow IV Launcher split between its Right Arm and Right Torso
with 25 missiles, usually carrying a mix of cluster, homing, and thunder warheads, though
the missile load may change depending on the operation. It is clad in 14 tons of Stealth
Armor, and carries a Guardian ECM Suite in the Center Torso. A Light Gauss Rifle with 32
rounds of ammunition mounted in the Left Arm provides a long range armament for use against
enemy scout mechs, though it is tactically inadvisable for the Stalker Typhoon to engage
enemies directly if it can be avoided. A triplet of Medium Pulse Lasers is mounted
underneath it for close range self defense. A 340XL engine with double heat sinks ups the
movement speed of the mech up to 64 kph for better operational mobility. 1 ton of cargo
space is used to add expanded living quarters to the cockpit to support a relief pilot for
long range operations. The stealth armor was increased to 14 tons to improve durability.
The 4S still benefits from the 3F's Combat Computer, but weapons related repairs no longer
benefit from the Stalker's Ubiquitous nature due to the extensive modifications.
