Only played a Star Trek RPG once. Not sure which one it was and I'm sure it's been talked about here before. 2 hours of character creation and 5 minutes for some turd to force open up a cold hatch with a red light indicator.

Sounds like your GM was a pain...
I played a couple of times, but the group I started with wanted to do everything that Kirk and company did...I felt we should do our own thing. Found a new group and well the GM was blood thirsty and we had a large character turn over...seems we all had on red shirts.

No. He actually gave ample hints not to open the hatch and even allowed us a roll to avoid being sucked out. Pretty generous. Most of us still died.

LOL!.
Ours' always had a smile on his face no matter what we wanted to do or not do...he also loved it when we went on any kind of shore leave...bar fight? Sure no problem...
