GL1 Mule (Glider)
Tonnage - 5
Engine - None
Movement - See Text
Internal Structure - .5
Control - .25
Lift - .5
Armor - 1 tons

Fore - 4
L/R Side - 4/4
Rear - 4

Equipment -
2 Squads Infantry - 2 tons
Towing Hook - .25 tons

Overview -
Used only once in combat, and that in the pitched battle between the noble ComGuard and the Clans, the Glider was a once in a lifetime inovation by Colonel Jack Sink of the ComGuards infantry.

In a quick need to get as many of his infantry squads as possible into the face of the Clan Wolf onslaught, Sink came up with the dangerous and daring plan of using gliders from a sheltered airfield to transport the units. Using his units air support, six guardians, they dragged Mule after Mule into the air using an innovative Tail Hook catch system to drag the craft down the runway without landing again and again.

Unfortanitly the Mule Glider would be useless. Clan Wolf warriors, although at first ammazed at the use of the Glider born infantry simply turned and marched into the wind. The Gliders were forced to turn away and land elsewhere, and those landings were rough by the inexperienced pilots.

In an ironic twist, the Glider carrying Colonel Sink and his command staff crashed badly into the woods and Sink was killed before he learned off the Mule's folly.

Capabilities -
Due to its Glider nature the Mule can only move at the speed that the lifting unit left it off at. This limits its capabilties though it can stay in flight for long periods of time. The Mule is also remarkabley cheap, making them easily available for troop transports. Limited armor protects the glider from ground based flak and it is also a good staging unit for paratrooping units.

Deployment -
A few pirate and Periphery kingdoms have noted the innovative use of the Mule Glider and have developed their own units to match.

NOTES -
Unless pilot of a Mule is Veteren or Elite, then the unit takes an automatic "Crew Stunned" after landing.

Can only move at speed left at. If a Guardian builds up to 9 MP before detaching, then the Glider has an MP of 9. An air unit, either VTOL or Fighter, needs one ton of weight to carry towing equipment for the Mule. Glider units need .25 tons for a towing hook and support structure.

this vehicle holds true to the good, bad, and ugly of glider warfair. were life expectency was considered gone the second you took off.

My father was a paratrooper in Korea, he took one flight on a Glider and thanked god for his parachute. I want to be a paratrooper but only the reserves will take me cause of my heart murmor (something i'm kinda annoyed about. The U.S. Air Force turned me down too). I don't want to be a reservest, I want to go jump out of planes!! I did jump out of a plane once, with my english teacher in High School. She did all sorts of random shit, and she dared us to jump out of a plane with her, anyone who did it would get an A on the final. I was the only one who did it, but i'm glad i did. I had the time of my life!

its fun as hell! what are you talking about?! I LOVE IT! I can't get enough of it. I'm planning about 8 jumps this summer actually! I'm very looking forward to it. Have you ever done it? Believe me, try it! you'll love it. Its the best fun in the world. When you go up and you jump out and the world is laid out before you.. i mean it doesn't even feel like you're falling! the wind is ripping past you and then their is a beeping and you pull your cord, a sharp tug, and then bam, you're gently oscilating in the breeze. Its the most relaxing thing in the world.

Are you sure you got the A for jumping out of the plane with her or was it for something else?

Sorry, I don't fly, unless I need to. And there is no need to jump out of one.

Hahaha cute. Now if you had seen my english teacher you wouldn't ask that question. Nice lady, but definitly needing to retire before she went through two generations of my family!

Still, everyone needs to jump at least once!

Raven, who would also like to note that you are safer in the air then you are in a car!

Give it a try sometime. Believe me, i'm afraid of heights and I actually loved it.

Its far different then just being a few feet up. its an incredable feeling.
