I like the mech. Its good, its solid. I question the medium pulses on an assault machine. Simply because you never move fast enough to ever get your work done with them.

I could be wrong but I thought the Shogun was a sword mech. I apologize if I'm wrong. The inclose weaponry is uninspired, you could have done better things with 6 tons of space and 40 heat to play with for your in close bracket. Heck 10 tons and 32 heat to play with could turn out magical things.

Don't get me wrong I love the idea of a C3 Company command Shogun.

Just some minor quibbles with it that make it less than perfect.

Actually, I think I agree with you. I never really thought of anything else to do with secondary weapons, and the 20 DHS made it so it could hit any offending lights with a nice alpha strike, making up for the light secondary armament.

But no more. So I'm just now entering the first of my 'Mechs to be based on criticism of an earlier one. And I like it better too. Too bad I waited, what with today's update. Oh well.

And as for the name, no, you're not wrong. I don't remember what the Shogun carries, but it's an 85 tonner, belonging to Wolf's Dragoons, I think. I first learned of the canon Shogun (unless I'd seen it before and forgotten it) in Mordel's TRO, about ten minutes after I submitted this one. I then very unhappily hunted down its fluff. But the canon one is a rare 'Mech, and the name fits, so I probably won't bother changing it. Like Warhammer says, the damn canon 'Mechs take all the good names. I still haven't finished that anti-fighter frigate, because everything in me demands that I name it Whirlwind.
