Take the movie "A Knights Tale" and give it a Battletech theme.

For a movie that one only got the jousting battles generally correct and the rest was crap...simple way of BTizing it is to let Nystul write it while Gresseman doing up the characters.
One question do you want a full cross over or what?

Simple then, take all references to Jolly old England, and rename the for some planet in the FWL, adjust from there...if you want to keep Chaucer, sorry about the spelling, that is do able...as for the jousting...let me think some more on it...

Give the Mechs big lances, have the run at each other, and see who knocks over who. Mech should be the same class....
Remove that horrid dance scene.

I liked the Dance scene up until they started to "Rub some funk on it" as my younger son would say
For those of you with DVDs. Check out the scene right after the hero reunites with his father. And and it cuts away to a birdseye veiw of jolly old Enland. Freeze the picture and zoom it on the upper right hand corner. You you will see the Millennium wheel. How is that for a goof.

Goofs in films happen all the time several older films using castles and such in Europe didn't hide the TV anteenas or radio anteenas so they are there...same for electrical lines as well...
Besides, the movie here in question is selling for $9.99 at WalMart and Kmart...so it's not on my top 100 to get on DVD...

Those kinda of goofs are excusable. Some director just did not pay attention or just flat out did not care.
But the city was a scale model of old England. Which means they had to build the thing. The commentary says it was a joke. But how hard would it be to reshoot a scene over a model without the wheel?
HHHMMMMM!! About as hard as it would be to beleave that they had face painting in medievl times.
Do not get me wrong. I like the movie. I really do. Even with all the horrid misplaced scenes. It had character and charm that is hard not to love.
And as Merlin said in Excaliber "It's easy to love folly in a man" It is easy to love a moive even with a the folly in it. I would recomned it.

Well the draw back is I got to see it on a flight to Egypt and since that is about 14 hour flight, I saw it twice during the flight, once was enough...while the basic story was good and they did do a nice job on some parts the MODERN DANCE AND MUSIC ruined the movie IMHO.

The moden music did not bother me, The fact the the cast was "Getting jiggy with it" (I beleave that is the correct term, I swear I need a translater to talk to my kids now days) did.
But all in all. I think it would make a excellent story for battletech. Bard and all.

Their getting giggy was well I guess the way to sell the film...you know the needed sex that all movies must have to sell.
I agree the basic story is a good one to use in BT, and the best bet is to take the main story and make simple changes to place in the BT setting. Why not do just that? Seems it's okay for the authors of the novels to borrow from other stuff and make enough changes to suite the game and call it a story, so why not go that route...

Come to think of it, They already did. Sort of.
The novel. Main Event, When Rose got his start at Solaris VII.
If memory serves. It is close to A Knight Tale.
