Kind of bored here at work today and this thought popped in my head. Munchkin meets CBT.

An Atlas with a mech sized chainsaw. What would the stats on something like that look like?

(only serious replys will be acknowledged )

Umm. There are stats on a mech mounted chainsaw. Also a mining bit and a harvesting combine. Now if I can only remember which book they are in... _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

The stats used to be on-line at the Battletech chopshop (relnor dot something-or-other) but alas, that great sight is no more.

Even then, the chain saw was for small 15-ton lumberjack mechs. An Atlas-Sized chain-saw would have to be like the claws, but doing damage to the armor and internal structure every turn the mechwarrior can keep his saw engaged.

If I could be less serious for a moment: The Atlas, with its death's head cockpit, that carried a chansaw would, doubtless, have to be renamed the Jason.

What about a Gundam with a shotgun?

(I got bored once and decided to see how one of my Gundam action figures would look with some of the gear from my old 3 3/4 G. I. Joe figures. Thanks to the rubber hands and the extra wrist poseability the Gundam was not only able to hold a shotgun but hold it close to the chest like a SWAT team member.)

I think the Loggermech is what youre after, and if I recall, its in the Explorer Corps book. If thats not good enough, the Mechwarrior adventure 'Unbound' had the stats for a buzzsaw in it, kind of a mech circular saw. Kinda fragile, but always a crowd favorite.

I know they do something like the loggermech in Mechwarrior dark ages called the forestrymech. Same mech different name I assume. I foolishly tried this game for about 3 days before being violently sick at what they have done over at wizkids to my beloved battletech.

More like, "if it ain't broke, don't break it."

According to TDB, the chainsaw weighs five tons and takes up five crits, with no damage listed. I suppose it's for trees. I'd suppose an Atlas sized, anti-'Mech chainsaw would need to be bigger, heavier and inflict damage. I'll make no suggestions, since I've never been good at making weapons.

I have a design for a reciprocating saw usable on mechs 3 tons 3 crits and replacable blades (think big Sawzall) damage depends on blade used and how much.(dulling degrades performance)

Sawing through mech armor is probably next to impossible anyway. I could see something like a huge Dremel-type thing used for salvage operations, but it'll cut much too slow to be useful in combat.
