If you are not going to cast anything still in production, perhaps you should rethink the Vindicator. The original sculpt is oop, but they still make the resculpt. It is not like a project phoenix machine, the rescult is reposed but not radically different, might attract the attention of a lawyer with that one.

The Banshee on the other hand is I think universally disliked as a resculpt, the older one looks much better. And since the resculpt is larger and rougher looking, it can be said to be a clearly different version.

PROJECT UPDATE

I have started casting miniatures, so far I've a dozen of Panthers, some Vindicators and Blackjacks, you can start writing orders on the Panthers

and have casted the first 5 Marauders

Next molds will be Thunderbolt, Rifleman, Jargermech, Dervish , Hatchetman, Catapult, and two sets of arms and various bits and pieces, like Marauder or Rifleman arms, autocannons and that stuff that always breaks or is lost.

I got the Thunderbolt and Marauder in mint condition Nightmare, who has graciously conceded the use of the minis for future molds as a mold usually breaks after 10-20 castings have produced.

I'm looking for volunteers to supply any of the following minis in exchange for getting free castings:

Here's the list of the minis I'm interested in duplicating, preferably unpainted, since I have to remove the paint in order to make a good copy, and not all paint coatings can be stripped completely, resulting in a loss of detail of the casting

Locust (Plastech one, for experimental purposes, trying to get a replica of this one)

Wasp

Stinger

Commando

Javelin

Urbanmech

Jenner

Cicada (really old 3025 casting, resembling the illustration on 3025 TRO with a shorter nose, I saw on on eBay but lost the auction:cry: )

Hermes II 3050 casting (the thick one)

Withworth

Enforcer

Trebuchet 3050 casting (the thick one)

Dragon

Warhammer (I really need a unpainted one in good condition, since mine was stripped and is battered and in no condition to do good molds of it)

Banshee old 3025 casting

Banshee Steiner variant (with PPC arm)

Some of those above surely are still in production, it's just an oversight, I'm not going to cast anything that you can buy at the store *wink*

For production orders, pricing, payment and supply of minis for replication contact me at

A quick clarification. If I supply one of the sought after minis, you are going to send me the mini back plus a casting? Please excuse my confused mind...it is Monday and I have a teething 7 month old. (must have sleep )

Which version of the Urbanmech are you looking for? Do you have a price yet for the Panther and Vindicator mechs?

So many questions...

Exactly. You might want to wait until I return Nightmare his Marauder and Thunderbolt, but fear not, once I have made copies, there's no reason for me to cling onto the originals.

Oh, by the way, I already have most of the minis in the list, so this it's not a scam to get rare minis free. It's just that in many cases I'd have to strip good paintjobs , even if I could get over the pain of stripping half my collection, results are not as good as there's always some paint that can't be removed.

3025 one. I only mention it because like the Panther, it's a 'Mech you want to use in whole lances.

The Panther, $3.50 (three bucks and a half) on account that the mini is not as good as I would like them to be (aside from the sprue marks, some little blobs inside the SRM launcher and one of the back jumpjets that cannot be cleaned off) Please note that I'm only selling this to people that want several Panthers to make a lance but they would never spend $7 apiece to get it. If you want flawless quality, buy the original.

Now, I'm not saying the cast copies are shoddy, detail is good and I do my best in clearing as much flash and excess metal as I can, and once painted, you will not be able to tell it apart of the original. But they do recquire a bit of polishing if you are obsessive about detail.

about the Vindicator... welll, they will go for $6.95 apiece, the same as a Vindie from Iron Winds, because
a) copy quality is good, no flaws that cannot be cleaned with a sharp blade and sandpaper.
b) this is the 1R old Ral Partha casting, and it's quite rare, I see it going on eBay for $10 or more
c) I'm not competing with Iron Wind on this one because this is an OOP mini. Besides the obvious pose and arm differences, the minis are completely different

In fact, I could make more money selling copies of this one on eBay, but I feel generous

Hope this answers some of them.

Remember, further inquiries should be addressed to my e-mail, a discussion board is no place to conduct business transactions.

And I deny everything. You don't know me, and this conversation has never taken place

Ok, I have started mass production, in addition to the formerly mentioned figures, I now have copies of the Marauder, Rifleman, Thunderbolt , Dervish (flawless !),

limited stocks, sold on a first come, first served basis, though don't fear, production is suited to demand.

Contact me with the list of what you want, and I'll tell you prices and send you pics of the copies.

I accept Payment through Paypal.

If I have the time, I'll set up all this in a webpage.

I do need to jump in at this point because I'm fairly certain recasting minis and selling them is not legal. The companies that produce them or own the rights to them might object heavily.

Now, I'm not a law enforcement official, so I won't stop you from doing it of course. However, I do need to ask that you do not use these forums to sell them. I don't want to get involved or have my name brought into some argument about selling these.

Of course, Mordel, of course. I figured out you will have to lock this thread

Disclaimer:

I'm only replicating minis that are OOP and are never going to be produced again, the Unseen, and just as a favor for friends. This is a non-profit undertaking.

Now you can lock the thread. And delete it for safety sake , I got all the publicity I needed

Urban Mech
Hermes II
Whitworth

are all back in production. -

You can bet that almost all of the non-unseen will be re-released by IWM at some point.

Vampire is mostly doing this to make replacements for those of us with destroyed damaged unseen versions of these mechs. I need replacement arms for my marauders and rifleman. IWM does not sell these anymore as far as I can tell.

Hello again

I am back after the usual hard drive formatting catastropeh. As usual, I've lost all my bookmarks, ICQ contacts, and e-mail addresses.

Would be the interested parties please e-mail me again so I can process your orders?

siniestro@eresmas.net

DISCLAIMER: I only make copies of OOP 'Mechs that will never be produced again, namely, the Unseens, as well as bits and pieces for broken or damaged minis.

I have a website now, but I lost the address, Ralgith?

Well a few more are joining that list. I'm sure most of you have heard about it.

-------------------------

IWM to drop 10 designs

Posted by: Warzy1 on May 10, 04 | 4:52 pm

Further fallout from the the Harmony Gold/Unseen lawsuit will necessitate IWM to drop 10 current products (plus two fantech variants.)

Baboon
Behemoth
Galahad (and Fantech Galahad 2)
Grand Crusader
Kraken
Nexus
Peregrine (and Fantech Peregrine 2)
Raijin
Viper
Vixen

More than likely, these will be re-released at some future date in the same vein as Project Phoenix, but no date will be set until the feasibility of such action can be verified.

IWM has stopped production on these, and will cast no more. You may still order these, phone only 513-870-0606, until Friday 5/14, or until the current stock is gone.
