Is anyone else having trouble downloading from this place? I first tried to download ICQ, and my download capped at 14 KBS. Next I tried to download Unreal Tourney 2003, and it capped again. I'm running a WiFi card off this comp, using a Linksys wireless router on my cable modem to access it. Windows XP reports my card is working optimally, 11 MPS transfer rate and a "very good" connection. Al my sites are booting up really fast and my games have no lag, it just seems any file I have to save to my HD is running slow as molasses. I've only tried download.com, so maybe thats it. I don't think any settings are capped, but im scratching my head here... _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.

Probably download.com. You need to try other sites to make sure they are ok. If other download sites are slow (ie. 3 or more), than there is probably another issue going on. Although I have no idea what it could be. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Hmmm...I just tried downloading the latest patch from Unreal Tournament, and it's still running slow, around 10 KBS for downloads. I tried three different mirrors, and although they were all foreign, it seemed they were running slower than they should have. Still though, all the sites I visit boot up quickly, and internet games give me no lag.
The weirdest thing happens sometimes: when i try and visit a site, the "working offline" dialogue box pops up and tells me to go connect to AOL, the only ISP I have on this comp besides my LAN network with comcast, which my cable modem runs through.
Altogether, I'm just worried about my download speeds: I don't see how my wireless router could be capping this computer or something (11 MPS transfer rate), but my download speeds aren't up to what they were on my other comp. I haven't tested to make sure of this on my other comp, but I don't see why still should be lagging so slow for this comp's downloads anyways. Can anyone please offer some suggestions or something that I can do to check this out? _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.

try dling several items on a file sharing program like winmx or kahza....
thats how i check my dl speeds at times.
odds, are your just getting a server side limiter on your dl's.
