Well, I am the resident undead so I should post here.

My personal ride of my character Viktor Starkov in our roleplaying campaign that spawned my novel, in the 3025 era, Starkov rides a Trebuchet he stole from the dying Peter Chandler of 3025 Readout, and he shot down 7 battlemeches totalling 375 tons, including the Atlas of a Lyran general destroyed with a freak full LRM salvo to the head.

I love the Trebuchet, but I have upgraded to a Crusader taken from a pirate. I remember that when I was a kid and played our first Battletech games I managed to score a dozen victories with a Crusader.

So I like big gun 'Mechs but my greatest success have always been with missile boats.

I wasn't here 3,000 years ago when the hearts of men and dwarf failed etc LOTR reference farcical firey-mountain ceremony, but if there's a thread... Why not.

If it's a non-custom mech, it's the War Crow. Such a prestige ride. Runner up would be the Night Gyr. They have incredible style and mechwarriors always need to bring their brown pants.

If it's an RPG character custom, I keep being on the wrong side of the table. Of those written for named characters I've made, the Pillager PLG-A7X "Goldbeater." That has what I like.

I may have to question why many of the characters I've written are women in unfortunate circumstances who are held back by the incompetence of others. It does make a good situation for player characters to have something to work towards, I suppose.
