================================================================================================
Capabilities:
Being a somewhat estranged variant of the well known Centurion BattleMech, the CN7-C changes
its loadout significantly when compared to more traditional Centurion variants. This 50 ton
'Mech has a 300 rated XL engine which, when coupled with its Triple Strength Myomer, allow
the CN7-C to reach speeds of 118 kph under the right conditions. While the XL engine makes
the 'Mech more prone to critical damage, the amazing weapons payload carried by the CN7-C
more than makes up for it.
The CN7-C is fitted with 4 Medium X-Pulse Lasers (which are linked to a Targeting computer
for even greater accuracy), 2 SRM-6s with 15 salvos each, and a small laser to help control
the heat better for the TSM. When firing all weapons and running, the CN7-C reaches the
minimum threshold for the TSM to activate and gains the +1 MP for being at 9 heat; and by
firing all four Medium X-Pulse Lasers (and running or walking and firing the Small Laser)
the 'Mech will remain at 9 heat. This allows the CN7-C to cause havoc on the battlefield,
dealing 24 damage-per-turn consistently whilst being difficult to return fire against.
The mighty capabilities of this 50 tonner are balanced by its high cost though - to purchase
one costs the same as a King Crab. But, when considering which 'Mech to use for a scenario,
this variant has the same damage output [if the majority of the missiles hit] as most
assault 'Mechs, with the only difference being that one has twice as much armour, and the
other has twice as much speed.
Deployment:
The Centurion CN7-C was one of the few 'Mechs produced on the tiny moon Págos (the written
pronunciation of the Greek [an ancient Terran civilisation] word for ice) which serves as
the headquarters of the prosperous mercenary group Arctic Silence; which its leader - Alisa
Wolfstein - won in an epic duel on Solaris VII. They have a fully functioning space colony
which produces 5 of these 'Mechs a year from one of several factories on Págos.
The majority of the 'Mechs are sold in bulk to the Lyran military, or individually to other
wealthy mercenary groups and MechWarriors.
A newly inducted MechWarrior of Arctic Silence may choose to be given one of the 'Mechs
produced on Págos, which leaves them in debt to the group for years and allows the senior
members of the organisation to control them far more efficiently. Three of the 'Mechs chosen
by nieve young MechWarriors in this way have been CN7-Cs.
At least one of these 'Mechs has been seen fighting for each of the great houses, showing
how wide Arctic Silence's influence is, and how successful this 'Mech is on the battlefield.
Notable MechWarriors:
Along with all the BattleMechs produced by Arctic Silence, the CN7-C is one of the many
'Mechs which is owned and piloted by Alisa Wolstein. In several battles, the effective
deployment of a CN7-C has been the tipping point of what may have otherwise been a complete
stalemate.

Sorry. Don't like. A good Trebuchet variant but a bad Centurion variant. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

Agreed. This is not a Centurion. There is, however, another 'Mech that is more like this - the 4SP Hunchback.
Aside from this I have a bit of a problem with close assault machines reliant on XL Engine, but it can work. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

Well, I can change it to be a different 'Mech, I designed it first and then named it as a variant of one of the 50- ton BattleMechs I like and own. Part of this process is to fix issues with it obviously - it's all fluid atm - since I've only been designing 'Mechs on and off for a couple of years - I'm not that experienced yet. But passion is a start, right? Thanks for letting me know what you think,
Alisa. _________________ Times change.

Yeah, I've looked at the 'Mechs you've mentioned now, and it makes sense for it to be one of those over a Centurion, but what should I change it to? _________________ Times change.

You don't really have to change it to anything, since it's your 'Mech and you're going to play with it. When I design 'Mech variants I usually look at the variants already in use and then I take replace weapons with those that do what I want the 'Mech to do better. Some heat, mobility and armour juggling follows. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

Without doing anything for heat ballance this is as Cent-ish I got it. Comming from CN-9AL and CN-9D3. Personally I think it doesn't really need the Targeting Computer, so I'd go for heat sinks instead.

The classics are mostly defined by weapons placement and armour allocation (I didn't pay much attention to that while making the sample either). _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!
