================================================================================================
Overview:
Considered an effective Long-to-Mid range striker by its supporters, and a death trap by its
detractors, the CHP-3C "Champ" is Grinder Inc's upgrade to Comstar's Clanbuster variant.

Capabilities:
Meant for all buyers, C3 systems and other advanced electronics were eschewed in favor of
    weapon systems.

Both large lasers have been replaced with ER equivalents to focus on range with the biggest
change in weaponry stemming from the controversial replacement of the LB 10 cannon for a
Light Gauss. The loss in versatility has provided no end to nay-sayers though the designers
have "stuck to their guns" arguing in favor of the range focus.

An MRM 10 replaces the SRM 6 in order to better support its role.

This emphasis on range has contributed to a significant loss of short range power with the
loss of the close range lasers being used to add additional armor protection and heat sinks
instead, allowing the design's increased endurance to complement its role even further.

The largest complaint is against the design's lack of CASE use to protect its pilot. Grinder
Inc had no argument against this claim and simply did its best to bank on the popular
    slogan, "No Guts, No Galaxy."

Deployment:
The "Champ" has proven itself popular in its intended role with showcase units performing
well in Solaris arena bouts. The high praise is often used to overshadow the fact that there
is also a higher percentage of dead pilots when the mech does go down. Another plus for
    Solaris viewers...

Variants:
An easy and common change involves switching back the MRM 10 for an SRM 6. The slight
increase in short range power and added accuracy has proven popular enough to make this a
standard option available to buyers should they desire it.
