Variants:
    The CLN-7CB was a development in the late Succession Wars when battle worthy BattleMechs
    were often hard to come about. Downgrading the engine resulted in the loss of ground speed,
    and reduced the jump capacity to only 150 meters at a time, but freed up mass for increased
    firepower and much needed armor. An additional 2.5 tons of the latter increased protection
    by almost 50%, allowing several locations to absorb much harder impacts than before. As to
    firepower improvements, even though the original base design lost three small lasers, this
    allowed for the installation of a four pack of short-range missiles and a ton of ammunition.
    The final two free tons has been used for heat sinks, allowing for better prolonged fire
    from its weapons.
    
    This new model of the Chameleon first debuted in 3025, greatly surprising the foes of the
    Federated Commonwealth who thought they were facing mere training units.
