Overview:
This Highlander variant was developed to be a mobile unit with extreme damage capabilities,
to assist the Lyran Commonwealth in fighting against the Word of Blake. StarCorps' Son Hoa
was able to reduce its production of other variants of the Highlander to make room for the
production of the HGN-735, starting in early 3074. The design is essentially a combination
of the Highlander -733P and -734.

Capabilities:
To increase the design's survivability, the standard GM Fusion Engine was kept from the
-733P. The gyro was upgraded to a Compact version for the same reason, while 17 tons of
standard armour means this Highlander can absorb a lot of damage before any of its internal
components are exposed. The inclusion of three jump jets (one in each torso section) is
mandatory for any Highlander variant. These provide a great boost to the 'Mech's otherwise
limited mobility. To free up weight to mount more equipment, an Endo Steel skeleton was
    selected.
Next, the engineers had to decide which weapons to include in the new design. For the
design's main Right Arm weapon, they decided to take the PPC of the -733P over the LB 20-X
AC of the -734, with it being upgraded to a Heavy PPC which deals 50% more damage than the
original. Taking the Mech's damage potential to another level, the two Streak SRM 6s of the
-734 were doubled for a total salvo of 24 missiles should all launchers achieve locks. These
racks are split between the Left Arm and Left Torso and supplied by 4 tons of CASE II
protected ammunition (also in the Left Torso) to allow the HGN-735 to stay in the fight for
a long time. As a backup weapon, an ER Small Laser was placed in the Head. To allow the
'Mech to fire its weapons without overheating 14 Double Heat Sinks were included. Finally, a
Targeting Computer was added to greatly improve the accuracy of the design's main weapon.
The increased mobility provided by the trio of jump jets allows a Mechwarrior to manoeuvre
the enemy into the HGN-735's "sweet spot" - between 120 and 180 metres away. Once the target
is within this range, the SRMs soften up the target while the Heavy PPC focuses on a single
location using the Targeting Computer. Once the opposing unit is opened up, the massive
spread of the SRMs quickly crits out their weapons, leaving the enemy incapacitated. The
HGN-735 is great at fighting in both urban environments and more open terrain, although you
should consider a different 'Mech for a scenario where the battlefield is almost completely
    flat with no cover.

Deployment:
Deployed widely across Lyran frontlines during the Jihad, the HGN-735 delivered exactly what
its designers intended: high damage with great survivability and enough mobility to utilise
its weapons effectively. It was only produced in limited numbers, despite every operational
factory being pushed to the limit to churn out as many 'Mechs as possible to replace those
lost in combat during the conflict. Once the Word of Blake was defeated, the HGN-735 was not
nearly as influential as it had been, and production all but stopped, with the HGN-735 lines
being replaced in favour of producing newer 'Mech designs utilising more advanced
    technology.

Notable MechWarriors:
Interestingly, Alisa Wolfstein used an HGN-735 as her go-to Battlemech in the Solaris Arenas
after she left the LCAF, utilising its great flexibility to gain huge numbers of C-Bills and
a lot of fame whilst she worked towards raising enough to start her own organisation (after
5 years in the arenas, she retired in 3080 to create Arctic Silence, only 28 years old,
using the icy moon Págos in the York system as a base of operations; which she won in the
final duel of her Solaris career by killing its previous owner in single combat - he had no
heir so it went to her).
