Overview:
Despite it's name, the Enforcer II isn't a brand new mech. The scientists at NAIS recovered
a company of mothballed ENF-4R Enforcers that had seemingly been attempted at modification
before their rediscovery. Believing they were saving both money and manpower on research
and development, the engineers created a separate system folder for the project, and simply
started referring to them as "the Mark II"

What was intended to be an inspiring sight on the battlefield ended up being a catastrophe
    in the making.
Of the original twelve ENF-4R recovered, only half were suitable for the upgrades as each
Enforcer contained some form of "battle rot" - shriveled myomer bundles, buckled armor
plating, degraded shielding around the engine, and fused heatsinks. One even had a corrupt
gyro that, once the mech was brought online, twisted the torso 180 degrees and snapped the
unit in half! The scientists working on the project believed that chassis used a form of
prototype endosteel that, due to either possible defects or the corrosive materials used
during the creation process, most likely caused the internal breakdowns over time spent
    inert.

Despite these setbacks, there was still enough parts from the collective discovery to
generate a full lance of Enforcer IIs.
The engineers were surprised at the successful integration of their XL Engine and
double-strength freezers (despite the added bulk of the endosteel), and observed that the
combined weight savings could be spent upgrading the classic autocannons and lasers mounted
in the arms. Even the right torso had been modified to accept two more ammo bins [though it
was noted that the unit could certainly benefit from mounting CASE in one of those slots]

Although loyal to the original Federated autocannon, the prototype endosteel had eroded the
belt feed mechanisms in all 12 chassis. Without suitable parts (and efforts for those parts
going towards the front lines to repel the Clan threat), a replacement was necessary.
...After a heated debate (and a coin toss), the lead engineer begrudgingly turned down the
"twin AC5" suggestion and instead had his repair teams install a
fresh-off-the-drawing-board, single-barrel Silver Bullet Gauss Rifle.
[...The elongated barrels added weight to the Enforcer's right arm actuators, so there was a
risk that the weapon would "tear itself apart" from over-use. The cooling jacket was
removed to help alleviate some of that stress, but it is unknown if the weapon would
actually do more harm to itself than to its opponents, or if it was just speculation...]

Wanting to test how quickly the new heat sinks could dissipate heat, the engineers retooled
the left arm so that it could seat a pair of large lasers instead of the single. After
hearing complaints from the pilot about not being able to hit the same location consistently
(a muttering of recoil on a weapon that emits focused light being utter nonsense), the
engineering team agreed to try using the binary laser assembly (again). The new
double-strength freezers worked magnificently in each test firing of the Blazer, with
skeptics being shunned when the initial reports from testing concluded that the
"double-punch" was well worth the trade off in range reduction compared to the standard
particle cannon. There was concern that the massive heat buildup would wear down the
fragile actuators (due to the sudden heat spikes being observed) but, again, the data was
inconclusive due to the short run of tests before the model conversion could reach full
    swing.

Capabilities:
Similar to the original ENF-4R, speculation of the Enforcer II is that it would have
excelled at sniping opponents at any range: the Silver Bullet Gauss Rifle makes for a great
anti-vehicle weapon - especially against aircraft and hovercraft, and the binary laser can
strip nearly a full ton of armor off an opponent that wanders too close. Thanks to its
double-strength freezers, the mechwarrior wouldn't need to worry about immediate overheat.
10 tons of armor help protect this unit from sudden skirmishes or when brawls might break
    out close by.

Deployment:
None. Of the 4 successfully rebuilt ENF-4R, the Enforcer II never actually stepped foot off
New Avalon. Testing trials saw two of the models destroy each other by friendly fire, while
a third pilot's brain was "liquified" when his Gauss Rifle exploded, taking out it's
vulnerable XL Engine in the process.
[The fourth battlemech was inexplicably lost. When questioned, it's pilot only comment was
that the unit was "haunted" and noted as a complaint about about the AI taunting him and
turning itself off once it returned to base. (Though this is only speculation, given the
fact that it was missing from it's hangar the day before the testing trials were abandoned
    seems far too coincidental).]

Variants:
No known variants of the Enforcer II were ever attempted, with any and all data collected
pushed towards the third iteration of the sacred unit.

Notable MechWarriors:
Any notable mechwarriors had their names stricken from records for secrecy.
