Overview:
A rarely seen variant of the original King Crab the KGC-5000 G was actually a variant of the
equally rara KGC-5000. The original KGC-5000 mounted a quad of PPCs as its principal
armament. The result was nothing short of devastating however the design had a crucial
weakpoint, its still lacked range. The KGC-5000G rectify this but it change the KGC from a
close ranged powerhouse into a powerful seige machine.

Capabilities:
Little more than a walking sledgehammer the KGC-5000G was actually one of the most potent
seige vehicles obtained by the Star League. Cheap to produce when compared to the Alacorn,
Devastator or Thunderhawk, the 5000G also does comparable damage to its closer ranged
    brothers.

With twin Poland Model 7A Gauss rifles comboed with a Tiegart Magnum ERPPC, the 5000 G
overall damage does not lose out to the original KGC-5000 nor its predecessor the KGC-0000.
More often than not, a single volley from this seige machine often ripped heavies to shreds
and topple entire assault mechs. Its little wonder that the Star League heavily relied on
the design to break strong point defences and bunkers. 24 reloads per cannon allow the pilot
to be more generous with his shots but in general, the ammunition is reserved for assault or
firesupports mechs and defensive hard points.

For close in defence, the KGC-5000G was disappointing when compared to its brothers. However
a single Guided Technologies 2nd Generation Streak SRM-6 with 15 Cased reloads and a pair of
Diverse Optics lasers did help discourage lighter and faster mechs or vehicle that attempt
to swarm the big seige vehicle.

If neccessary, the Gauss rifle and ERPPC can be enagaged at closer ranges as well, although
at close ranges, the pilot will be hard pressed to line up his shot with the big gauss
    rifles against smaller faster targets.

Armor wise, the KGC-5000G was heavily protected, a near 20 tons of Durallex Special Heavy
armor protects the machine and a rugged Vlar 300 engine keeps the mech reliable. The
KGC-5000G did when through several upgrades like double heatsink technology and was rebuilt
from ground up using the new Endo-Steel technology which helps the mech carry a greater
    payload than normal.

Deployment:
Only a lance of this mechs were ever produced and saw action during the last days of the
Amaris Wars. The KGC-5000G were in fact critical during the final assault. When Kerensky 2nd
in Command's Atlas was advancing forward in an attempt to push down the palace walls, the
KGC-5000Gs were hammering away at the walls' weak points and taking out heavy long ranged
designs like Marauders and Warhammers and bunkers so as to make the Atlas mechwarrior
    attempt easier.

That was the only time these machines were spotted and many believed that the KGC-5000G was
shipped off with Keresnky during the Exodus along with the other King Crab variants as well
    as the original.

Interestingly enough though, Wolf Dragoons has one of these King Crab KGC-5000G variant
which further prove that the deadly KGC-5000G is indeed in the hands of the Clans now.
