    [I've "redated" some of the new but "old-looking" weapons. So I've a host of new equipment
    available for succession war era mechs. This is one of them.]
    The Locust is one of the most used light mech in all of the warring Succession States. But
    when battling infantry its short range often exposes it to dangerous return-fire.
    Kuritan engineers tried to solve this with the LCT-1K variant.

    Four light machine guns offer the same anti-infantry firepower but with doubled range
    compared to the standard LCT-1V. That gives the mech a considerable advantage in such
    operations. But it has to pay for that with some less armor and limited ammo supply which is
    quartered on a per gun basis. Warriors seem to meet the variant with skepticism so far.

    The LCT-1K appered in regiments all over kuritan space and spread even to neighboring realms
    because of occasional battlefield salvage.

    A davion-built variant, the LCT-1F, is used as an fire support mech for light lances. It
    carries a torso mounted light PPC and two arm mounted small lasers for close defense. The
    armor is reduced to three tons but that is deemed acceptable for its role.
    The LCT-1N is a Marik variant with an increased speed (over 150 kph). It drops the machine
    guns and replaces them with two rocket launcher 10-racks for heavy but short-lived long
    range punch.
