    The RT-10 Retalisator was in production at Hesperus II for one month as informations about
    the first unlocked technical data from the Gray Death Memory Core reached Defiance
    M. Gollub, designer of the RT-10, soon had been told to do an upgrade with the new
    technology. After two month of designing he came up with the plans of the RT-16!
    As soon as high-tech equipment reached Hesperus the production-line was altered to switch
    production to the new model.

    M. Gollub decided not to use new technology for the basic parts of his mech like EndoSteel
    II, XL-reactors or even doubleheatsinks because that would take too much time to switch
    production to the new model. Only FerroFibrous- armor was incorporated into his design to
    save weight.
    Most modifications were done to the weapon-loadout. The old Defiance Killer Type 10
    autocannon and the Holly SRM-2 had been replaced by a Poland Main Model A Gauß Cannon and a
    Defiance Sting Streak-SRM-2.
    The Defiance B3M Medium Lasers were not changed.
    Now the Retalisator was able to deal a lot more damage at a much greater range than before.
    Critics pointed out, that the placement of the expensive Gauß Cannon in an arm would lead to
    earlier destruction cause of the lower protection, but combat records showed it´s greater
    firearc to be an advantage.
    The first production-run of the RT-10 was delivered to militias and units on remote planets.
    It carried an AC/10 with 20 shots instead of the Gauß Cannon and a SRM-2. It had 10,5 tons
    of standard armor and 13 standard heatsinks.
    By 3056 the RT-18 went in production: By mounting EndoSteel II instead of the
    FerroFibrous-armor and 10 doubleheatsinks it was able to upgrade the Streak-2 to a Streak-4,
    to shift it´s ammo to the right torso protecting it with CASE and to give it the original
    10,5 tons of standard armor.

    The RT-16 and -18 were delivered to various regiments for heavy long range support for
    medium lances mostly to give long range cover for advancing lancemates with short range
    The RT-10 can be seen in small numbers with militias and units near the periphery.
