Here is a rare variant of the original Centurion. Its believe to have be an old model
Centurion refitted with newer tech instead of using the most recent CN9-D in testing stages
officially put out by our hated Hanse Davion.
The mech was found lying on #censored# (true location undisclosed), with its head severed
off the body and the rotting carcass of its pilot. Its now recovered and sent back to
Luthien with most urgency.
Capabilities:
Appearance wise, the wreaked machine looks no different from the original CN9-A or the newer
CN9-5D. However on closer examination reveals more interesting finds.
The right mounted autocannon was missing and is clearly replaced by a Poland Model A Gauss
rifle, which has unparallelled accuracy, range and punch currently available to most
Innersphere forces. Capable of throwing out a 125 kilogram solid slug of ferro-metal with
the sharp end being of tungsten material, this weapon is more than capable of coring light
mechs and decapitate any mech with ease. The cannon was fed by 3 clips of 8 shots located at
the right torso. At examination, 2 clips are empty with the 3rd down to its last 3 shots,
indicating a vicious battle was previously fought around the region.
The right torso also houses a small Federated 4 SRM rack, which is capable of launching four
90 millimeter missiles at closed ranged targets. It replaces the no longer needed Luxor 3R
LRM-10 rack. The SRM ammo chain has being severed though and from the judging of the loading
mechanism, the SRM seems to have being loaded directly from the head ! The other weapons are
the staple Photech 806C medium lasers.
The mech's armor is even more remarkable, it uses newly made Kallon Light Ferro-Fiberous
armor which should not be easily available to most units yet. The new armor offers 30% more
protection on average at the cost of being bulkier.
Deployment:
No one know who exactly fought here or what happen, but suffice to say the pilot was
determined and rather die and honorable death instead of facing capture. Thus we believe a
freak hit to the SRM ammo stored in the mech's head lead to his demise.
The equipment he uses aren't even widely distribute among the best Fedrat units. But its
extremely clear that the manufacturers are clearly of Fedrat origins, as Fedrats
manufacturers often conviently label their weapons with their trademarks.
We speculated that the pilot could have being part of a deep strike unit sent by the devil
Hanse Davion but its highly unlikely that deep strike units will take a Centurion that was
designed for line combat. Speculations aside, the new high tech equipment can be of use to
our military research efforts and let us gauge the devil Hanse Davion's military
technological strength.
As for the mechwarrior's remains, he would be given a proper burial as he clearly displayed
courage and dignity rarely see among Fedrat warriors. For this commendable action, as the
warriors of the Dragon, we must respect the fallen man.

The mech and fluff are really nice. I don't like the ammo in head, but it's there for a reason probably. FC engineers would probably place it in CASE protected torso.

I like the fluff and the design.
Built just prior to the Clan invasion this is a good showcase of the new technology just starting to make a re-entry into the Inner Sphere.
