Description: Humiliated by their defeat on the planet Wolcott, the warriors of Clan Smoke Jaguar have returned to the Inner Sphere to avenge themselves against the armies of the Draconis Combine. Bolstered by Clan Nova Cat, the invaders have massed an invasion fleet of new OmniMechs, battle-armored Elementals and aerospace fighters to destroy the Dragon.

Their target? Luthien, the Black Pearl of the Combine, capital of the Realm and home to the Imperial Palace.

Luthien lets you join the action as these fearsome invaders square off against the Combine's most elite MechWarriors and some of the Inner Sphere's finest mercenary units in an epic battle of the Clan Wars.

Luthien is a BattleTech scenario pack that includes a detailed history of the Battle of Luthien, personality profiles and MechWarrior statistics for major players in the engagement, game statistics for three new OmniMech designs, and two full-size BattleTech mapsheets of the Imperial City and the Kado-guchi Valley.

Comment: Its a good book, but the fluff is what makes it an excellent book. To be honest the missions themselves are a bit lacklustre. They seem to lack a spark which many of the other scenario books have. Battle For Terra, for example, really plays well as Comstar, you feel as though your fighting for your life. Here, the teams may seem equal but actually the IS seem to easily beat the Clanners in most of the bigger games.

Still the fluff more than makes up for it.

Comment: Good book, lots of history, and good missions. Uses all 3050 tech, with the exception of a few Clan 'mechs from 58.
Unfortunately, not all missions use CBT, some use ClanTroops, BattleSpace, AeroTech, and MW2. The last mission uses some odd version of BattleForce.
A good book just for the fluff, but decent missions included.

Comment: Another good pack. Heck, the map of Luthien by itself is worth it. Theres a few scenarios that use Battlespace and Battleforce rules, but the majority of the scenarios is pure Battletech. Keep your eyes out for the Q-mechs, the decoys that inflicted alot of damage on the invading force. I think that this one works best if theres one person for the DCMS allies, one for the Nova Cats, and one for the Smoke Jags. The game is also fairly balanced. The clans have their technology and new mecs, while the DCMS has numerical advantage.
