Comment: A great sourcebook that provides detailed information of one of the most devastating conflicts the Inner Sphere has ever experienced. For historians of the Battletech universe this book is a must read because of its rich attention to detail.

Comment: If you want to know what happened during the FedCom Civil War, this is it. Details of every major battle, from Kathil to New Avalon. Plus the attack on the Draconis Combine, the DCMS reprisal, and the Falcon incursion. Some of the sidebar things are very interesting too. The listing in the back lets you trace every unit through the war, from start to finsish, and gives you rough information on their status in each wave. It also gives you a bit of vague information on the status of both states after the War, but not quite enough to make me completely happy.

I really liked how this made a point of correcting several things Coleman says wrong in the novels. For example, Victor Steiner-Davion seems to think that the FCS Melissa Davion is named for his mother. The ship is really named for a Princess who died in 2892, more than a century before Victor's birth.
