This originally started out as my attempt at duplicating the "stock" Loki from Mechwarrior 4: Black Knight.

I very quickly came to realize that doing so would be impossible.

In the game, the mech has twin LB-10s (with 70+ shots *each*), two medium lasers, two medium pulse lasers, and the 6 rack. This was in addition to a laser anti-missile system and some ELINT gear.

It took just a few seconds to realize that such a blend couldn't be done under normal rules. The 10s were just too heavy in and of themselves, let alone giving them four tons of ammo each. The best I could do was twin 5s, but even then I didn't have the tonnage for an anti-missile system. Likewise, I barely got four lasers on the mech period, let alone two mediums and two medium pulses.

The way I see it, this variant is intended for use in hunting down battle armor and their carriers. The slugs can punch holes in the carriers, while the shot can ping the battle armor itself. The array of lasers makes a good all-around backup, while the streak is there for good measure.

Fluff:

Between the incessant fighting with the Wolves and their failed takeover of the Lyran Alliance, the Jade Falcon forces were in such sorry shape that when the Word of Blake launched their Jihad, they simply lacked the warriors and equipment to hold them off for very long, resulting in their being forced back almost to the Periphery. In particular, the new Blakist battle armors and conventional vehicles - including the Purifier Adaptive and the Pinto VTOL - so thoroughly flew in the face of Falcon tactical doctrine that the Falcons had no response for them.

After seeing the Falcons' plight, the kahns of Clan Fire Mandrill set about a hasty project to compensate for the Blakist advantage. The end result was the Loki D. The core of the mech is its active probe, which it uses to scout for what cannot be seen visually. The LBX weapons allow tactical flexibility in that the pilot can use slugs for mechs and conventional vehicles but switch to shot for battle armor and aircraft. The SRM and the lasers serve as backups so that the pilot can continue fighting if needs be once their LBX ammunition is depleted.

Much to the embarrassment of the Falcons, not only did Fire Mandril win from them the right to retake several former Falcon planets, the Loki D proved invaluable in their successful recapture; the one-two punch of a D model in a star with a Prime was too much for the Blakist commanders to respond to short of overwhelming force. Upon seeing the success of the D in action, the Falcons were forced to barter away the right to an entire corridor of planets in exchange for Mandrill-produced mechs, including several Loki Prime and D units.

Kraken, you might want to reduce some of the ammo in favor of more armor.

Its an Omni variant, he can't increase the armor.
