The fluff text says that the Bushwacker is supposed to be a long-range support unit, but after playing Mechwarrior a few times I've come to the realization that it's far better off as a straight-up brawler.

Thing is, XL engine + lots of ammo = bad things happening. This mod here was my way of minimizing the amount of ammo carried - and thus minimizing the risk of an ammo explosion bringing down the whole mech - while still maintaining roughly the same level and type of firepower.

I got to meditating on the problem while in church today and came up with the idea to replace the AC/10 with a PPC (re: I fell asleep in sacrament meeting and it came to me after I woke up Compress ). The idea to swap out the machine guns for the flamers and the idea to use the extra weight to downgrade to a light engine came from an earlier attempt at resolving the matter.

Whoever pilots this model is going to have to be mindful of their heat output, but it can be done with a little bit of discipline in the fire control section.

I like this design. I think you should replace one of the flamers with a turreted machine gun & ammo.
