==Overview:==
The Delta-class are the single most numerous class of Clan WarShips.   It is
these vessels that protect the Clan Homeworlds and patrol the space-lanes
against any and all intruders--and that will one lead the Clans in their
return to the Inner Sphere.

==Capabilities:==
Based upon the highly successful Lola III class Destroyers of the SLDF, the
Deltas received a more subtle series of improvements than most other ship
classes converted in the Clan Common WarShip program.
 
The basic 680,000 ton hull and the compact core KF drive remained identical to
the older Lola III, as did the transit drives capable of achieving a maximum
acceleration of 3-g's.   Clan designers upgraded the armor protection,
however, by outfitting this ship with 816 tons of lamellar ferro-carbide armor
plating.   6,800 tons of lithium-fusion batteries and an HPG transmitter were
also added to the destroyer.
 
Two docking collars were fitted to the design, giving the Deltas a very
flexible ability to lift additional support vessels, be they simple cargo
ships or fuel tankers, or fighter carriers or assault DropShips.   The flight
deck was revamped to embark a Star of ten Clan aerospace fighters, while small
craft complement was cut to just two shuttles.   Quarters for a Star of Marine
Elementals were also provided.
 
Fuel stores was increased to 14,228 tons--enough to cruise for a standard year
at 1-g, although high-g maneuvering will consume the fuel at a far greater
rate.   Similarly, the design team provided space for the storage of 34,000
tons of spare parts and equipment needed to maintain these WarShips.
 
Armament follows the general pattern of the Lolas, but has been homogenized
and standardized across all facings, with only the rear and nose having a
slightly smaller bite.   The nose, fore-quarters, broadsides, and
stern-quarters each carry three NL-55 Naval Lasers and two NAC-20 Naval
Autocannon (each with 50 shots), plus an anti-fighter secondary battery of two
ER Large Lasers, two LRM-15 launchers with Artemis IV (32 shots each), three
ER Medium Lasers, and two Streak SRM-6 launchers (15 shots each).   The stern
reduces the NACs to one NAC-20.   Sufficient heat sinks and heat exchangers,
as well as auxilliary power generators, were installed to enable the Deltas to
fire their full array of weaponry.
 
Two 135-meter diameter grav decks were installed for the full complement of
480 (including up to 193 passengers), and eighty escape pods were fixed to the
hull in the event of a catastrophe.   The remaining tonnage (35,783 tons) was
devoted to the main cargo holds.   The full cargo fraction of the Delta-class
came in slightly more than 12.4% of the total ship's displacement--an
acceptable figure.

==Deployment==
Delta-class Destroyers are the mainstay of the Clan Fleet.   Every Clan
operates at least four, the majority operate six, and several Clans have as
many as eight of these ships on active duty.   Currently, 100 Deltas are in
service on the Naval Rosters of the various Clans and the design continues to
be produced to this day, with two Deltas currently being built in the Strana
Mechty orbital yards.

==Overview:==
The twenty Epsilon-class Frigates were designed and developed in large part
upon the hull and KF drive systems of the old SLDF Congress-class vessels. 
Intended to serve as escort and command ships, the Epsilons are the only Clan
vessels that make extensive use of capital missiles--and the sheer number of
missiles that they can throw threatens even the heavy AMS clusters fitted to
the rest of the Clan Common WarShip program.   Against aerospace fighters and
DropShips, the Epsilons are true terrors, and these powerful WarShips are no
slouches in ship-to-ship engagements either.

==Capabilities:==
Like their Congress ancestors, the Epsilons mass 760,000 tons and have a
maximum acceleration of 2.5-g's.   The Epsilons are fitted with lithium-fusion
batteries, an HPG transmitter, and more than a thousand tons of lamellar
ferro-carbide armor plating, however.

Armament-wise, these ships follow the general 'ammo-only' plan of the
Congress-class in regard for capital weapons, with each arc except the stern
mounting an identical array of gun and missile systems:   six AR-10 Maelstrom
Capital Missile Launchers (each launcher having 10 Killer Whale, 10 White
Shark, and 10 Barracuda missiles), two NAC-25 Naval Autocannon, two ER Large
Lasers, two LRM-15 launchers with Artemis IV (32 shots each), three ER Medium
Lasers, two Streak SRM-6 launchers (15 shots each).  The stern only mounts two
AR-10 launchers, but retains all other weapon systems.
 
However, despite lacking any energy weapons, the Epsilons are not an easy
target--the Maelstroms allow these ships to generate a withering volume of
fire (while ammunition lasts), and then the concentrated batteries of NAC-25s
finish off the target once they come into range.   The design team include
sufficient heat sinks, heat exchangers, and auxiliary power generators to
allow the constant fire of all weapons, plus excess capacity to allow the AMS
clusters to engage multiple missile flights.
 
Like the ancient Congress, the Epsilon is equipped with two docking collars
and carries just one element of aerospace fighters, although in this case it
is a Star and a not a Squadron.   Small craft have been cut to two, however,
but space has been provided to embark a Star of Marine Elementals.   Fuel
tankage was expanded to 14,228, while spare parts storage is capable of
holding up to 38,000 tons of equipment.   The remaining 39,140 tons are
dedicated to cargo stowage.   The Epsilon has a final cargo fraction in excess
of 12.1%.

==Deployment==
Epsilon's are a fairly uncommon class of WarShip in the Clan
toumens--primarily because their primary weapon system (the AR-10 capital
missile launcher) consumes so many resources.  Even though extraordinarily
effective in both the anti-ship and anti-fighter role, many Clan Warriors
assigned to WarShips actually prefer the reliability and endurance of Naval
Lasers and PPCs, or the heavy punch of Naval Autocannon, over the low-damage
and expense of the capital missiles.

==Overview:==
In Nicolas Kerensky's original vision, he had planned to scrap all of the
remaining SLDF battleships, excepting only the McKenna-class vessel that
served first as his father's flagship, and then as his own.   That vessel
would remain as the sole Clan battleship--and the ilKhan's Flagship.   The
weapon systems stripped from the old SLDF battlewagons would be used as the
basis for the SDS ground bases to defend the new Clan Homeworlds and the
recently reconquered Pentagon, while their armor and parts would be
refurbished and used on newer, lighter Clan Common WarShip designs.
 
The largest of which Nicolas intended for his Clans was to be the new
Zeta-class Cruiser.   Based upon the Cameron-class Battle Cruiser, these
860,000 leviathans would be heavily refitted, rearmed, and made far more
fearsome than any mere battle cruiser had any right to be.   Nicolas planned
for a total of twenty Zetas to be rebuilt, assigning one to every Clan as its
flagship, with no more to be constructed afterwards.
 
However, after the ilKhan's death, the Clans slowly began to expand their
naval forces--with several Clans commissioning additional Zeta-class ships. 
This expansion eventually led to a total of forty-seven Zetas in commission
today, with forty-six on active duty and one vessel mothballed.

==Capabilities:==
The Zeta-class Cruisers are 860,000 tons in displacement, just as their
spritual ancestors, the Cameron-class.   Clan engineers fitted each of these
ships with a third engine pod, increasing the maximum acceleration to 2.5-g's
and installed 8,600 tons of lithium-fusion batteries alongside the compact
core KF drive.   Eventually, an HPG transmitter would be installed as well.
 
Unlike the canon Clan Cameron, the Zetas were intended to serve as Clan
flaghips and their docking collars were extended from two to six.  The fighter
bays were redesigned to accomodate 20 aerospace fighters and 4 small craft.
Fuel tankage was increased to 14,228 tons (enough to cruise at 1-g for a
standard year with the usual caveats about consumption rates) and space was
available for the storage of 43,000 tons of spare parts.
 
Four 135-meter grav decks replaced the mismatched pair on the earlier SLDF
cruisers, supporting the 720 person complement--including the crew, up to 326
passengers (50 of which were provided with large staterooms worthy of Clan
ranking officers), the aerospace personnel, and 50 Marine Elementals. 
Provisions and life support were provided to last the full complement for 360
days, and 120 escape pods were fitted to the hull to allow for emergency
evacuations.
 
Armor protection for the Zeta-class was a major priority in the redesign, with
nearly 1,400 tons of armor fitted.   Originally, this was ferro-carbide, but
as the Texas-class ships were stripped and manufacturing centers became able
to produce additional lamellar ferro-carbide, the existing Zetas were quickly
refitted.   This heavy armor plating gives the Zeta-class protection
previously seen only on the heaviest battleships.
 
Armament was also revised considerably.   The nose, fore-quarters, and stern
were fitted with three Heavy Naval PPCs, two ER Large Lasers, two LRM-15
launchers with Artemis IV (32 shots each), three ER Medium Lasers, two Streak
SRM-6 launchers (15 shots each).  In addition, the nose contained a pair of
massive NAC-35 autocannons with 100 shots.

Despite this impressive array of guns, these are the lightest arcs of fire of
the Zeta.  The broadsides and stern-quarters each carry four NL-55 Naval
Lasers, four NAC-25 Naval Autocannons in two twin-batteries (50 shots per
cannon), two ER Large Lasers, two LRM-15 launchers with Artemis IV (32 shots
each), three ER Medium Lasers, and two Streak SRM-6 launchers (15 shots
each).
 
Sufficient heat sinks, heat exchangers, and auxiliary power generators were
fitted to allow the Zetas to use this massive and lethal assortment of
weaponry at will.   The remaining 46,896 tons of displacement were set aside
to allow for general cargo storage in the main and secondary hold.
 
Since their introduction, the Zetas have served as the Flagships of their
respective Clans (as per Kerensky's vision) and the Clans have produced no
heavier ships in accordance with Nicolas Kerensky's wishes.

==Deployment==
Today, forty-six Zeta-class Cruisers serve on active duty with the Clan
Fleets.   A forty-seventh (the former Clan Mongoose Ship Quicksilver Mongoose)
was mothballed in the Strana Mechty Naval Reserve cache after that Clan was
absorbed by the Smoke Jaguars.   Although the Jaguars were not opposed to
simply absorbing the ship into their own Fleet, the Quicksilver Mongoose had
suffered severe damage during the conflict.   Lacking the resources at the
time to have the vessel repaired--and the trained crews to man her--the
Jaguars placed her in mothballs instead.   Over the years, the Jaguar Fleet
has expanded but still the Quicksilver Mongoose sleeps in SMNR-Alpha, ignored
by her rightful owners.

==Overview:==
The Theta-class Fleet Repair Tender was the last design authorized by the
Grand Council.   Meeting in 2849, the Grand Council under the authority of
ilKhan Jerome Winson listened to a petition by the Khans of Clans Snow Raven
and Wolf.   These leaders pointed out that eventually, their new WarShips
would receive damage--possibly many, many jumps away from the Strana Mechty
yards, or more local yards constructed by the individual Clans.   

While the Clans possessed two aging Newgrange-class Yardships, these immense
vessels were suffering from their size and the heavy use they had seen ever
since the Amaris Coup began.   In the Homeworlds, these ships had been helping
to build the orbital infrastructure of the Clans almost without pause--and now
were seriously worn out and needed relief.
 
The Raven and Wolf Khans proposed that each Clan provide the resources to
construct and man a much smaller Repair Tender--the Theta-class.   Much like
the Newgrange-class, the Thetas would have an extendible repair bay on their
forward section, only this one would be capable of only accomodating a vessel
of up to 860,000--the same size as the Zeta class Cruisers that Nicholas
Kerensky had ordained as the largest ships of war in the Clan toumen. 
Although less capable than the hard-worked Newgranges, the new Thetas would
prove less costly to operate and maintain over the years to come--and their
ability to provide mobile repairs meant that critically damaged vessels might
still be recovered and repaired.
 
By a vote of twenty-nine to five, with the ilKhan abstaining, the Grand
Council approved the design and construction of the Theta-class.

==Capabilities:==
Constructed on the hull of the 620,000-ton Gamma-class Fighter Carrier, the
Theta-clas Fleet Tender was a completely different animal.   Although it
carries weapons for self-defense, it a support vessel rather than a true
WarShip.   Mobility was not an issue, so the design team limited the maximum
thrust to just 1.5-g's--not an issue when conducting repairs since the Theta
and its client would both be stationary during repair operations.   The design
engineers did fit the design with lithium-fusion batteries, however, allowing
these ships to quickly respond to cries for help.   Further upgrades fitted an
HPG transmitter to these vessels for interstellar communications.   Just 246
tons of lamellar ferro-carbide armor plating was provided, and in a most
peculiar fashion.   Unlike many vessels developed by the Star League, the
Inner Sphere, or the Clans, the Thetas had a much weaker nose than any other
arc.   This was because of the massive expandable repair dock that occupied
most of the forward section.
 
This repair bay could extend to encompass   ships up to a kilometer in length
and two hundred meters in diameter, massing up to 860,000 tons.   Once fully
extended, the repair dock would be locked into posistion and the vessel
secured within.   Contrary to standard practice at the time, the Theta-class
repair dock was designed to be sealed and pressurized, allowing the 300 yard
personnel embarked to perform their job in a shirt-sleeve environment.
 
Six docking collars were included in the design, typically used for cargo
ships holding additional parts or for assault or carrier DropShips serving as
guard-ships for the repair operations.   No fighters were provided for, but
there was space for six small craft.
 
Armament was rather light, with four NL-35 Naval Lasers, two ER Large Lasers,
two LRM-15 launchers with Artemis IV (32 shots each), three ER Medium Lasers,
two Streak SRM-6 launchers (15 shots each) in every arc but the nose, which
was unarmed.   Technological difficulties precluded mounting any weapons in
combination with the expanding repair dock.

Eight grav decks of 135-meters diameter were fitted, there are sufficient
passenger quarters to house the entire complement of a Zeta-class cruiser as
it is being repaired.
 
The design featured 14,228 tons of fuel, 31,000 tons of spares, and had
sufficient space for an additional 85,523 tons of spare parts and equipment
needed by the damaged ships.   Although considered by many Clans as an austere
design, the descendants of those Warriors were utterly astounded when they
returned to the Inner Sphere and discovered that such usefull little ships
were virtually a myth.

==Notable Vessels & Crews:==
As noncombatents, the Theta class names are very uninspired.   Each is named
for the class, followed by its assigned Clan; i.e., the Blood Spirit
Theta-class vessel is the Theta Spirit; the Wolf Theta-class vessel is the
Theta Wolf.

==Deployment==
Every surviving Clan deploys one Theta-clas Fleet Tender (the Adders would
have had two, if the Burrock Theta had not been destroyed in the midst of a
three-way fight between the Blood Spirits, Burrocks, and Adders in the final
year of the absorption).   These ships are constantly in use, but each has at
least a three month period each year when it has its own needs serviced at a
local shipyard.
