==Overview:==
Who's the leader of the pack that's made for you and me?  M-I-C K-E-Y
M-O-U-S-E.  What do  mean we're live.  Oh.

All right, so you caught me.  Still, the Falcon--as funky looking as it might
be with the Mousketeer Ears--has always been one of favorites.

This big bad Bug got both Endo-Steel and 5.5 tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor (94%
of max) during its conversion to Royal status.  To that, we added ten double
heat sinks, seven of which are included in the standard engine.

Keeping the same speed and jump capability, we turn to the weapons--and RIP
THEM ALL OUT.  That's right, all of them.

We've got eight tons to play with, so how to use them?  A pair of small pulse
lasers in the left arm will give the anti-personnel capacity the old Falc had
(a variant replaces one SPL with a flamer instead).

We are really short on crit slots right now--only 3 left, and we still have
six tons to spend.  An ER Large Laser will replace the medium laser that used
be carried in the right.  That leaves one crit slot and one ton.  How about a
back-up medium in the head?  Sounds good to me.

A full jumping alpha will overheat by +5, so you got to watch that heat guage.
But this is an excellent scout and scout hunter.  All in all, this is a
30-ton package that can leap 180 meters in single bound, take a PPC punch
anywhere on its front facing, and punch you back at ranges of up to 19 hexes.
The Falc ain't no ordinary bug, cause this bird soars!

The 'Mech they named a starship after--no, wait, wrong universe.  Still, it
was a great show while it lasted.

The Firefly is a Wolf's Dragoons bug that has, well, always bugged me.  A
30-tonner that moved 5/8/3, mounted 3 medium lasers, 4 small lasers, an LRM-5
and had just 10 heat sinks?  WTF?

By using Endo-steel and 5.5 tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor (94% of max), and
ripping out all but one of those small lasers, we gain enough tonnage to
increase our movement to 6/9/6.  We add CASE to protect against ammo
explosions and one more medium laser.

Now that's a recon 'Mech, paw-paw.

==Overview:==
What were they thinking when they designed the Hussar?  It is little more than
a coffin.  But it is an excellent example of what happens when you design a
'Mech while stoned.

'Dude, if you move fast enough, you don't need armor.  Cool, dude.'

Right.  Here is the Hussar as it should have been--complete with handlebar
mustachio.

As a sidenote, by now you should all know that I detest XL engines.  But on
the Hussar, I will make an exception, because I hate dying even more.

By using an XL engine, Endo-Steel, and 5.5 tons of Ferro-Fibrous (94% of max),
we are able to increase speed up to 10/15/0.  The armor is the single biggest
improvement--the Hussy II has more than FOUR times the protection of the
original 'Mech.

Keeping the signature big gun of an ER Large Laser, we added a Beagle Active
Probe and TAG.  And that's it.  Price is out of this world for a 30-tonner,
and it is still not tremendously combat-effective.  But a recon company of
Hussars is like a pack of tasmanian devils.  I really got to paint one up with
gold-braided lace down the center torso, with it wearing a bear-skin shako.

Sneaky as a Javelin, or so the saying goes.  I always liked this odd-duck,
even if the armor was a bit weak.

Endo-steel freed a ton-and-a-half of space, and we switched to ten double heat
sinks.  Both of the old SRM launchers are gone--replaced with four Streak
SRM-2s and a single ton of ammo.  Without any tonnage to spare for CASE, we
mount the ammo in the head.

That leaves just enough tonnage to boost the armor to 6.5 tons--or 99% of max
coverage!  Sure, it carries less guns than a Commando, but the Jav is more
heavily armored and can jump!

In real life, I detest spiders.  The give me the shivers.  But I like the BT
Spider 'Mech.

I was expecting--dreading--that I would have to use an XL engine.  But I
didn't, believe it or not!  With Endo-Steel and 5 tons of Ferro-Fibrous (85%
of max), I found that we could keep both medium lasers and the speed that was
the hallmark of Spidey.

Ten double heat sinks means you can jump and fire until the cows come home and
never, ever overheat.  A 240-meter jump capability makes this little bug the
jumpiest (is that actually a word?) around.  Use the jets, young 'Mechwarrior,
use the jets.

==Overview:==
The Urbie--walking trashcan to some, guardian of home and hearth to others.
After seeing Wall-E, I so want to write a story about a really clumsy Urbie
and its pilot who always get into trouble.

We didn't use double heat sinks on this machine--one of the very few Royals
that can claim that feature.  The reason is simple--we can't fit the bulky
things in the 'Mech.  The engine is just too small to hold more than two or
three.  And spending 21 crit slots on heat sinks?  We've got better options
than that.

Endo-Steel and 5.5 tons of Ferro-Fibrous (94% of max) gives us a little
tonnage to play with.  Subbing a LB-10X for the old AC-10 gains another ton.
We add a second ton of ammo and CASE, and upgrade the small laser to a
medium.

We've got just enough tonnage left over to increase movement from 2/3/2 to
3/5/3.  And we are done.  It's still grossly inefficient, but relatively cheap
and powerful.

Still, when used as originally intended for urban defense--and in company
level strength--it does a good job.  A pack of Royal Urbies must look like a
school of Piranha to enemy Mechwarriors about to set foot inside their
defensive lines.

You know they are in the river--but where?  And when will they bite?  And HOW
MANY will bite?  One Urbie is funny--twelve, not so much.

==Overview:==
Ah, Brunhilde--there you are!  Come, child, it is time to unleash the
Gotterdamerung!

[Cue the 'Ride of the Valkyries' on external PA speakers]

Not really a Star League 'Mech, but come on!  Who doesn't love the little bit
of Davion pride and joy known as the Valk?

Endo-steel saves us 1.5 tons, and 5.5 tons of Ferro-Fibrous (94% of max) gives
us pretty good armor coverage.

We keep the medium laser and LRM-10, but add a second ton of ammo, Artemis IV,
and CASE.  That leaves a half-ton left, so we added a small laser to the
head.

There is not enough room to convert the sink heat sinks to doubles, but a full
jumping alpha is only +3--managable.

All this 'Mech needs now is a spear and an eye-patch.  We wait in the Halls of
Valhalla!
